Sweat deal!! I've been lookin forward to this day for awhile now, and by golly I stopped in to check (after doin a hub ass'y on my baby) and see if yours was legal. glad I stayed up long enough for this!

Congrats DG you earned it!

About the only thing I have done is collected parts. I am still working out the accesories for the front of the engine (alt,ps pump, a/c) since the front end is sooo much narrower. aint it though...

I went down to Mt Dora a couple of times and talked to Gil about the whole project and looked around the shop. It looks like the easiest engine to use is a Chevy 350 because there are so many different brackets, oil pans, headers, etc. available. But I have wanted to stick with the Ford in a Ford idea.go with a sbF (my sbC was free)

Its interesting that you chose to go with a steel bed,(I need steel to carry the Harley) the original owner purchased the complete body kit with the windows installed. I have played around with the body placement and thats really what I need to do next. I want to see if I can mount the body lower on the frame rails to close up the gap between the top of the tires and fenders(If you go ant lower than what he recommends...you'll have to cut out a section of the floor & fab a tunnel for the xmsn to fit in). The original owner already lowered the truck so theres no more adjustment there. But I have to work with how the engine, radiator and trans fits in relation to the bottom of the cab and firewall. (Yep...set EVERYTHING on the chassis & make it fit FIRST....don't do like me & make it fit the 3rd time....LOL)

I would definately be interested in seeing any other pictures you may have when you where assembling the truck and am also interested in how the title and registration work out. Keep up the good work!
I already had it registered in La.......the state has strict safety/enviromental rules....so I removed all the wiring from the '89 & wired the '36 with everything that was in the '89....safety/emissions/etc....it was fully insured ....which is also required......OR.....you can keep receipts of all your purchases and get a new title/registration.....I'll have to pay taxes on my internet purchases at the end of '09...)

Black......thanks....it snuck up on me too...LOL...the way things were going....it looked like it was gonna take another month to get myself together enough to get the truk inspection-ready

Hey! Congrats DG! This truck has sat on an epic thread for a long time and I'm glad to see it road legal!

I am going to definately trial fit things and mock it up first. The 5.0 can only go so low before it hits the front crossmember, so that will be one limit. I may need to trim the bottom of the firewall to clear the bellhousing but I think I can work with the stock trans tunnel and mount the cab a little lower.

I have the original title for the 94 ranger chassis and the vin plate as well, but didnt really think about the smog and safety rules it would have to meet. I checked when I originally bought about registering it as a kit (owner assembled) vehicle and at that time it only had to meet the minimum safety requirments (lights, turn signals, seat belts, etc). The other thought I had was to find an original 36 ford truck title and go from there. I have seen titles for sale on ebay before.

Did you buy the interior panels from Gil for the headliner and others?
