well after hunting for a rear drive shaft no luck i can have one cut & ballanced for 300.00 so looks like this is the way i am going

Dang, that's pricey! I paid $20 locally (junkyard, I pulled it) for an aluminum driveshaft from an Explorer Limited and had a local driveline/machine shop shorten and balance it for $170.
