ISO 4.0 TDi swap kit.

Before I drop a ton of money on a new kit, just checking to see if anyone has one they’d want to sell. Putting an ALH Tdi in my ‘83 Ranger manual. I have the motor already, just need adapter plates and engine mounts. TIA

people that swap out to tdi likely not selling....but i can see someone being intimidated and not using a kit .... worth the ask i wager...

i would consider a toyota transmission. w56 kits often can reuse stock starters. at the right place u pull yard you can source all of the shaft parts parts and starter under 200 bux.

the 56 and 58 and r series like 154 used to be easy to get cheap but its area dependant now.

there used to be a kit that reused the stock ford starter but i have not seen that in years anywhere.

this style kit for an older 2wd would be something i would do.



with a 4wd and say you were looking to convert also to a straight axle....i would still use the toy powertrain to allow for the marlin crawler stuff and run a gm 10 bolt/d44 or dodge old school 44.


but if you have a 2.8 v6 trans and are happy with your current 4x4 configuration, then going to the normal tdi kit is the deal.

if you have a 4 cylinder 4x4 then you need to get a different bell or maybe go custom....not alot of lima options for tdi.

this 2 in thick setup seems ideal to get clearance and leave the trans right where it is.
