I would imagine even though Jeep is a niche brand it has some value. Would it live as an independent company or try to merge with a bigger player?

Somebody will buy it. I dont see it just going away. The titan camp is also worried as there was some rumors about Dodge making the new Titan in like 2010-2012 or something like that. Latest I heard is it isnt happening. All the better to me, Dodge trucks arent even suitable to be door stops.

Sometimes things need to be done when theyre no longer desired. If you cannot make and sell a product the world wants, it shouldnt be the taxpayers that pay for them indirectly.

It'll get bought up by another car company for sure. That's what Chrysler did in the mid 80's when they bought AMC. They bought them out basically for the "Jeep" line.

well, since crysler pretty much screwed up the jeep by putting a mini-van V6 in it, maybe they should just bury it. i havent seen a jeep id want since the CJ series.

Perhaps fiat will buy jeep, then perhaps we will get 4 x 4 pandas, they'll be re-badged jeep of course

The biggest blame for Chrysler's failure lies in them allowing Mitsubishi to buy them out of Diamond Star Motors a while back. Look at where Mitsubishi and Hyundai are at now and look at Chrysler. As far as the Jeeps go I have no idea how the new ones are as far as reliability but I really hate the way that they look.

The four door Wrangler is a total abomination. It totally defeats the purpose of a Jeep.If you want a Jeep with four doors just buy a Cherokee.

I read someplace that the government's idea (which counts since they're bailing them out) is to simply fold Chrysler and give Jeep to GM.
