New tools you've bought recently?

I might have to invest in a plasma torch… prices have come down…

Those cheap Chinese plasma rigs work really surprisingly well considering the price difference to name brand.

For the most part they're copying torches from 20 years ago with an inverter for a power source instead of transformer, for home use I can't justify name brand price, heck even modern full price HFT options are kinda steep... One of these days I'll dig into my Ramsond as it's probably something dumb...

Went to a couple garage sales with the boss yesterday... Spent a whopping $11 and got a 2lb drilling hammer head and a wheelbarrow with two tubs, steel in decent shape and a plastic in near new shape, both True Temper... the tire even seems to hold air for more than 2 hours unlike my current one! That and the tub being attached to the frame instead of bluetooth bolts (sheet metal broke out around the bolt heads) for 2 of 4 bolts...

This morning I even put a handle on the hammer head, mainly got it since I don't have a 2lb mini sledge and I knew for sure I had at least one handle for it, turns out I had 3...

Checked out Lowes clearance and got a screwdriver bit set for like $11, went to garage sales and estate sales and just got a few things but one was a ~4lb fiberglass handle sledge that just needs some epoxy on the end of the handle (hey, $2...), some 1/4-3/8" extended drill bits, bow saw, medium size live trap and some heavy duty trailer safety chains along with whatever the wife got for $30. At the HFT sidewalk sale I got a long barrel air hammer and 10/50A battery charger for like $20 each...

I broke down and bought a smoke machine on eBay.

I can’t imagine how many hours I have spent on the Lincolns and on the Rangers and on the F250 chasing down little leaks. I put this thing together and plugged it in on the F250 diesel looking for a vacuum leak, and the whole process and finding the leak took me about 10 minutes.

It never dawned on me the pump itself might not be working right.

How on earth did I live without this thing all these years? I have a 78, two 87s, an 88, a 96, and a 97. Now my plan is to smoke them all in the next month or so. Then I’ll probably never use the damn thing again.! Still the best 50 bucks I’ve spent in a long time

I had a bad habit of using my pick tools as tiny pry bars... broke or bent most.

Solved it when I found these mini pry bars... and heavy duty pick tools. Made in Michigan by Tekton.

I guess I should have wipe out my organizers a bit. But this is what I used for over 40 years...

I was also updating my truck box and I only had one 12mm 12 point socket in my big tool box. Went to buy a second for the truck box and found this... made for Ford driveshaft bolts.

Swivel half inch impact socket.

Finally snagged a compression test kit from hazard fart over the weekend
