If Chrysler dies what would happen to the Jeep brand?

When GM, Chrysler, and Ford (eventually) go bankrupt, they'll still be able to operate under bankruptcy.

They'll be able to get rid of the pirates (union workers) and dramatically lower their operating costs.

The pirates aren't so much the union workers as are the Management. The way to fix it is to chop the top right off and place competent leaders with REASONABLE salaries based on actual performance.

Pretty simple really.

well if ford got jeep...then they would have the rights to the wrangler and the dana 30 and 44....i think i smell a bronco on the wrangler plat form....or evan a new ranger on that form as well

theres an idea! then throw in the 300 and offer the 240 as the only other engine

I think you are an idiot... union workers simply have a contract based on performance and company profit when the contract was signed... when the company takes loses and a new contract is negotiated (key word there guy) the company will more often than not take things from employees...

you really know nothing about unions except what you heard from a guy who read an article.

it must be nice to have a job where your employer can fire you for no reason, but keep the new guy who makes 5 dollars less than you an hour but fvcks up all the time... and to have your wages cut 47% on monday from what it was on friday...

you really have no clue... how old are you and what union experience do you have? did you know hospital employees have unions... and teachers have unions and police have unions... oh and firemen... they all must be pirates!!!

bush is white? I think so....

serously... what's it mean?

Jeep will be sold off. It's nothing new to them.

Jeep has a history of being passed around from owner to owner. It's been that way for decades. It's a profitable brand with a lot of recognition and strong international sales. Unfortunately, all of Jeep's previous owners went out of business. Willys, Kaiser, and AMC are all gone.

AMC didn't go out of business... they were bought out by chrysler just as chrysler was suckered into a crap deal by daimler in.... when did that happen???

point is, sometimes it's not a matter of going out of business but corporate war games.

yeah, and they destroyed a great car company!!

sorry irkillroy...BIW is bath iron works in bath Maine...they build war ships...great place....the thing is that i have just worked with some of them in the past....at other placed of employment.....and they think they were better than every one else and they bitched because all they would do is weld and that is it....when you take other people like my father that worked his ass off for more than 30 years in the metal fab world...he always did every thing from start to finish...making the plans and welding to grinding to paint....and the old meat head union workers would only weld and that is it...and they were not even in a union any more

Looks like China will be taking over now. This is their way of getting their autos sold in the U.S.
I hope it falls through.

uh, china???

what Chinese cars are sold in America?

as for china... they flooded our steel market (canada, US and Europe) with "extra" cheap steel... not only is it low grade but they are not selling it for even the cost of what it takes to make it. they are intentionally trying to destroy the steel market so they can take it over.

seriously, if you are at lowes or home depot and see a shovel that says USA on it for 13 dollars and a shovel for 3 dollars but says china... buy the one from USA... the trade deficit with china is killing our economy.

ReRead my post. It says this is a way for them to get thier autos sold in the U.S

We actually do everything we can to buy NA made items. If it says "made in crapania" we typically pass on it. It might cost me more but at least we are supporting our economies.
