I am repairing an 09 Ranger 4X4. I need a CV joint boot for the front driveshaft that runs from the transfer case to the front differential. The boot is located near the transfer case and covers the CV joint at the rear of this driveshaft. I cannot buy this from Ford as they say it comes with the shaft only. Anyone help??

Go to a parts store. CV joint boots have been available for front wheel drive vehicles for as long as they have been on the road. I don't see why a boot isn't available for the ranger.

should be about 20 bucks.

I don't know why that wouldn't be available from Ford. Probably don't expect people to need it yet.

Maybe Ford will offer it someday but for now it only comes with the shaft.
There are aftermarket boots for a lot of front drive axels [right or left of the diff], but none offered for this area that I can find.
I will take the old one to some auto parts shops tomorrow and try to match it up with the suggested universal split boot. Thanks.
