I’ve gotta get these two seals out of the sides of the diff to replace them, and am a bit unsure about what tools to use.
The first is the drivers side, and some of it on the inner section is rubber. Maybe slice away the rubber so there is only metal left behind? Then use a slide hammer a bearing puller attachment if one can be found to fit? I’m concerned that with a bearing puller it’ll sorta cave in and bend to the point of it being pretty stuck.
The second, on passenger side, already has a bearing behind it. So I need to use a bearing tool anyways.
I havent yet found a bearing puller attachment set that has enough measure info listed to confirm it’ll work,so will need to just pick one up and try it.
The shop manual specs a collet tool for the bearing, but that’s excessively expensive to buy and I haven’t found one to rent.
Any other tricks to get these two out?
