"I can't get stuck"

if u don't get stuck u not going to the rite spots and i do get stuck sometimes

^aye. I noticed alot of people who own new chevy's get really pissed when I ask them if their truck is two wheel drive and lowered :icon_rofl:

I feel ya about the sla... need to get my parts gathering finished yet... I do like the ground clearance that sla gives ya though (assuming you don't have those faggitty torsion bars/rock-stump anchors anymore)

my truck was like that new......they why it got it lifted.

I'm not quite sure i understand what you mean? My definition of stuck, you're unable to move under your own power, when you don't have the equipment to recover yourself and you need another truck to help move ya. Whats your definition?

some people consider if you have to use your winch, you're stuck. I dont consider that stuck.

Thats kind of like saying "I wasn't stuck cause my hubs wern't locked in....."

not really. If you seen alot of the stuff i wheel, you would understand... a winch is required for alot of obstacles.

Theres the difference between backwoods wheeling in the mud and getting buried a$$hole deep to a tall indian and rock-crawling.

i got my 91 ranger, 2.3 2wd stuck a couple weeks ago in a field, i didnt try to but its a long story, lol. anyway, i buried my truck til the tires were 3/4 the way gone(i couldnt see them cuz i dug em so deep) but i got the truck out with no help so i think, if you want out youll get out, i wanna make it an off roader but i dont think its worth it with the 2.3

LOl, getting stuck or not getting stuck, Is simpily a matter of terrian, if your just trail wheeling on good ground u never get stuck, but mudding, peit bogging, your going to get stuck.

I do not get stuck in mud because I simply do not go into it. I hate everything about mud and I especially hate cleaning it out of everything. I just see no reason to get filthy, sticky clay crap stuck all over my $6,000 truck.

That said, I am building a VERY low budget mud truck out of one of my Rangers. I have less than $30 into it so far including the cost of the truck. Mud is fun in something I don't really care about!

So back to stuck situations, I have been stuck in snow or hung up in the rocks more times than I care to remember. It's just part of wheelin, and the recoveries are usually pretty fun.

It must be nice to have the option of going in the mud and not going in the mud...'round here if you're wheelin', you're muddy!

Well, if being unable to self recover is the definition of bein stuck, i've been stuck once. After watching my winch cable snap for the second time, i admitted to myself that I was screwed and started calling for help, soon followed by realizing i had no phone service.

Also, this instance pretty much proved karma to me. I had spent the recent set of snow days pulling out dozens of stuck vehicles in Rapid, including several plow trucks. Didn't give that up till I popped a front u-joint in my rubicon, then switched to the ranger.
So i was out on some planned subdivision road near Lead, with no houses built on it yet. Road was unplowed, and i was just playin around. Drifts were deceiving, and i dropped the front passenger tire off the edge. Snow was very heavy, and was deep enough to cover my winch. Dug the winch out, and tried a 45* pull across the road to pull my truck back up. Winch pulled the truck maybe a foot before the cable snapped. Next, i tried a straight pull across the ditch by wrapping the end of my winch cable around a tree. Barely moved before the cable gave that time.
So, after realizing i have no cell phone service, I start walking out to the main road. Its dark at this point, of course. I make it about half way out, where the subdivision road has been plowed for some reason. I see a set of jeep headlights up the road, so i flag with my flashlight. The jeep ends up being a stock 4dr JK, so I start to ask for a ride into Lead. I aimed my flashlight at the hood, and was damn surprised to see the rubicon badge.
I explained my situation to the driver, and he was willing to try to pull me out. He was able to follow my ruts back to my truck with no problem, and found a relatively shallow place to turn around, we managed to get a strap hooked up to my truck. However, when he tried to take off, the jeep spun and sunk before the strap even got tight. After digging/rocking the jeep out 3 or 4 times, I ended up digging a 40 foot or so runway for him. Any time he tried taking off in the snow, the jeep would spin and the diffs would hang. With the runway, a couple false tries (had to explain how recovery straps worked) and two good pops on the strap and my truck came free. Got it back to the main road, and made it back to rapid in time for supper with friends.

Being found by the one stock vehicle capable of performing the rescue (Rubicon), by a non-wheeler, where no one had a reason to be anyways, I'll chock that up for karma.

Karma has a way of showing up at times, I have stoped and helped lot's of people over the years. It's something i have always done and alway's will..

many years ago. my sister was moving to college, i had at the time a 1972 bronco. and was towing a u-hual trailer with my sisters furniture in it. I was on the highway out in the middle of no where, and the hose from the water pump to the block the blew up.

I had no spare and there was no cell's in those days. Well the first truck that came along stoped to help. this was on a sunday and the chance of getting a replacement was slim on a sunday. Well the guy that stoped, his brother owned an auto wreckers about 40 mile's from where we were. this man drove me out to the wreckers. we found a hose. got some water, and a couple tool's, and a ride back to my bronco.
When the truck was fixed. I tryed to give the guy some money for helping me. he refused and said to me just stop and help others when u can, And off he went.

Well about 15 years after that. i was heading down the highway, it was late and the weather was turning bad. i seen a truck broke down on the side of the road. we were about 70 miles from no where. i stoped to help, as i always do. this young man had a broken u-joint. i was in a pete, with an empty lowbed. so i winched the truck onto the deck and off we went. While i was getting the truck onto the deck, i noticed a small sign on the truck (chase river auto wreckers) I asked the young man about it. His uncle owned the place.
It turned out, I was helping out the son of the man who had helped me out so many years before...
