"I can't get stuck"

Karma has a way of showing up at times, I have stoped and helped lot's of people over the years. It's something i have always done and alway's will..

many years ago. my sister was moving to college, i had at the time a 1972 bronco. and was towing a u-hual trailer with my sisters furniture in it. I was on the highway out in the middle of no where, and the hose from the water pump to the block the blew up.

I had no spare and there was no cell's in those days. Well the first truck that came along stoped to help. this was on a sunday and the chance of getting a replacement was slim on a sunday. Well the guy that stoped, his brother owned an auto wreckers about 40 mile's from where we were. this man drove me out to the wreckers. we found a hose. got some water, and a couple tool's, and a ride back to my bronco.
When the truck was fixed. I tryed to give the guy some money for helping me. he refused and said to me just stop and help others when u can, And off he went.

Well about 15 years after that. i was heading down the highway, it was late and the weather was turning bad. i seen a truck broke down on the side of the road. we were about 70 miles from no where. i stoped to help, as i always do. this young man had a broken u-joint. i was in a pete, with an empty lowbed. so i winched the truck onto the deck and off we went. While i was getting the truck onto the deck, i noticed a small sign on the truck (chase river auto wreckers) I asked the young man about it. His uncle owned the place.
It turned out, I was helping out the son of the man who had helped me out so many years before...

that is one great story man! talk about coincidence!

i am not sure if they do it any more but new Egypt speedway was running a mud drag where the hole started shallow and then it got and deeper and the objective was to go the longer distance in the mud for your class and i know English town raceway did it but and the last hole was like almost 6' deep and not many trucks got the threw that!!!! That event was only held one time and never done at english town but i heard that new egypt was doing it..

There's a place in Erie, PA that has something like that. IIRC they only open it up once a year for anyone who is not a club member or something like that, but they have a pit that they claim has only been crossed twice. And both of those times were back in the 80's by true monster trucks. One year someone decided to try to run a military 6x6 across it in the off season. They made it about halfway before burying it. Rumor has it that they tied the winch off to the only tree in the pit (a big pine) and when they came back with help, the only way they found the truck was by following the winch cable back to where it had sunk. Took a couple big dozers to get it out.

She got you out, she didn't get stuck, she's the one telling the stories right now.

My B2 with both axles locked and 31" MTs gets stuck sometimes--a lot really. With 35" Hawgs it almost got stuck once. Of course the mud was only up to the windows, so I won't say it wouldn't get stuck.

I've never gotten my Bobcat stuck. I've floated it on it's belly-pan before, but having a bucket on the front sort of helps. And the same with my backhoe. Hard to stick that too--it just pulls itself along. And my little dozer. That doesn't even acknowledge the mud--things that tires disappear into it floats right over without sinking. So there are exceptions. Nissan Xterras obviously belong in this group. Especially when operated by the friend of a friend of a cousins friend. :D

I thought our skid steer was unstoppable before. There's been times it rode on it's belly pan but like you say, you can usually use the bucket to lever yourself free if you have to. That is, until we were building our new house. When we were clearing the lot and cutting the driveway in, we took a bucket full of rocks off the end of the driveway about 50', straight shot, dumped them and tried to back up. No luck. Tried using the bucket... and just filled it up with sticky-gooey mud that wouldn't shake free. Had to resort to shoveling the mud out of the bucket to lighten it, shovel around the tires some, and throw a couple bags of mortar on the mud. Was just enough traction to get out. Dad asked me what we should do with the stuff that got dug out for the foundation... I told him we should make a mud pit out of it.:icon_rofl:
