hi i have a 1986 ford ranger that i am prerunning, i need to know the easiest way to widen my wheel base 3 or 4 inchs i dont know how should i use wheel spacers?

The best use of wheel spacers is to set them bolt-side to the floor and stand on them to reach things on high shelves.

The best gain of track width (wheel base runs the length of the vehicle, track width runs the width) is F-150 axles.

An Explorer rear axle will gain you around 3 inches on an '86 (and disc brakes, if you get a '95+ axle.)
