Hi from Alabama!

So what about panels from a bronco or an explorer or something else?
Is there any other vehicles that have what he needs?

I think bronco 2 was dead by then, the introduction of explorer killed off the bronco 2 (the 1st gen explorer shared the same interior as the 2nd gen ranger - I've scavenged a few parts of explorers).
I don't know how closely explorer followed ranger with the interior facelift... I want to say that in '95 both were double din, but not really sure about that.

Are you still with us Mindcrime?

Okay anyways,
I personally need some clarity.

What is it exactly that you need?

does your switch look like this? (go to 2nd pic in gallery for the back side of the switch)

Per O'Reilly that is 93-95... don't know why that is listed like that unless ford did 2 redesigns one in 95 everyone knows about and one in 96 I've never heard of (or else oreilly's interchange is just flat wrong)...

That is a 93-94 switch. It’s what is in my truck. The newer panel is from a 98 and has this one. The wiring color on the newer panel
matches a 98+ anyway. Like I said, when I bought them they were listed as 95-01so I assumed they were exact matches in regards to wiring but they weren’t. Now I am just trying to verify they will work. I figured someone would have tried this before and there would be plenty of info on the subject. There is virtually none. I will figure it out though. It ain’t rocket science. I just don’t know a lot about these trucks. And info is hard to verify with a lot of this, due to the fact Ford changed some stuff here and there. The trucks are mostly the same, but enough was changed to throw wrenches in my plans. am a Mustang guy. But I needed a truck so here I am. Just trying to figure it all out. By the time I am done with this thing I will be very knowledgeable.

If a guy can buy a pigtail off partsgeek for $5 that's an option too - beats the $20 for a tank of gas, you just got to be sure of what parts you have, what parts you need, what will work and what wont.

Well one thing is I spent what money I had on all the stuff I bought for the truck already. I am not trying to spend too much more. I believe I have what I need except for the experience on this particular truck. I am mostly just explaining what I am dealing with and trying to learn about it.

Maybe somebody will come along and post the wiring schematics for the '98's donor truck power windows. I don't know squat about anything '95 and newer, but something in the back of my head (those damn voices again) is saying that Ford may have starting using power window relays sometime after they started using the GEM, and then the SJB (Generic Electrical Module and Smart Junction Box).

IF that turns out to be the case, you're dealing with two different circuit types, but you can still get around it by adding your own relays so that the '98 switches can drive the '94 window motors.

A '98 schematic would be super helpful here. A picture of your '98 switches, from the backside, and the '98 wiring connector (if you have them) would help some too.

And, welcome to TRS. I'm up the road from you, in Bowdon.

here's the colors for every ranger 93-97 (not TRS)

Wiring Schematic for Power Door locks for a 1999 (post #4)

Wiring Schematic for Power Windows for 98-00

(that last one is stupid hard to read in a browser - download PDF and use a decent pdf viewer, nvm, it looks like crap in a pdf viewer too)

The fuse box info for 98-00 shows #4 being windows, and #26 being window relay so yeah it had that whole through the GEM nonsense...

@Mindcrime Late to the party..
Are your door panels complete trash? As in you need to replace the entire panel?
In your first pic of the passenger side it shows the plastic missing - that's why I ask.

Reason I ask is I do make trips to the pull yard for my 94 whenever they let me know they have one.
Just recently I went and there were four 94s - shocked the snot outta me too. I had a field day. But most of the door panels were f'ed up by peeps wanting speakers and door guts.
They list plastic door skins for $17. Shipping can't be too bad.

Obviously can't make any promises and it's a long shot, but another option.

EDIT:
Almost forgot...Welcome to TRS.

That’s the stuff I had no way of knowing… thank you for the info. Kinda new to Rangers.

Thanks! Ok, driver side panel has all the hanger tabs broke off except one. Kinda flops around and rattles a ton with radio going. SQ killer that drives me insane. Passenger side is just missing the trim bezel that I can’t find anywhere. I can get one for manual and try to hot knife the cutout but I am not confident I have the skill to make that work. I might need more than one to get it done right. Another option is just swap over to manual, which I actually prefer. I can get manual panels on marketplace all day.
