HELP HELP HELP any ford techs out there?

Well about two weeks ago my truck started missing...i Went and got it diagnosed and it said it was the cam sensor...well i found TDC and replaced the sensor...the synchronizer was bad so i went through the steps to replace that...still runs HORRIBLY NO POWER WHATSOEVER...checked the cat and THATS not it either! Could it be a timing chain? anyone any input i neeeeeed it

Do you have a check engine light on?
 
Could you have gotten the synchro timing off?
It's a fairly precise adjustment.....
 
Did you replace the shaft for just the sensor? The shaft is what causes the problems.
 
Could be any one of about a thousand things. There's a 90% chance you either have a check engine light on, or the check engine light bulb is burnt out. In those cases, there are stored trouble codes that will narrow the possibilities down to a number that is workable.

In the absence of any other information, I'd double check the cam syncro alignment first, since that is the main thing that was changed and the engine will never run properly unless you get it just right. And FYI, it's not enough to just find TDC. You need to find TDC for cylinder #1 on the compression stroke. If you found the other TDC (end of exhaust stroke, beginning of intake stroke) your cam synchro will be 180° out of phase from the camshaft.

Also i aligned it with tdc on compression stroke about 5 or 6 times and its still bein a pain. had it all lined up on timing marks also and it still misfires horribly
 
Alright this is driving me insane.... repositioned cylinder 1 tdc on compression stroke a couple more times still nothing... any other input i dont know what i can do now... Just to ask and be hopeful cylinder one is (if facing the headlights&cab) the closest plug on the left side

Tank, that's indeed the number 1 cylinder; the front one on the
passenger side.

Are you trying to align the vane to the opening on the cam position
sensor, with no. 1 at TDC? If so, then that's way off according to
the way my 04 is aligned.
When at TDC, the vane on mine is pointing more toward the
passenger side fender than the opening in the housing......
 
the way i read it in the haynes and i think chiltons when no1 is at TDC you have the vane at 75* counterclockwise from engine centerline.. and to engage the oil pump twist it clockwise to 33-45* from engine centerline but its still way off...im takin it to a dealership wednesday to see if they find something that i cant haha hopefully i am off a little cause i cannot seem to get her to run smooth
 
It sounds as if you may have replaced the syncro shaft as well the sensor, but if you have not it will cause miss fires over 3000rpm and NOT THROW A CODE, due to the fact that Ford does not monitor the syncronizer over 2500rpm.
 
if you did not use the ford tool to install the cam syncro then it is out of time. the computer uses the crank and cam sensors to figure that the engine is in time. the main purpose of the cam is for injector timing. have a ford dealer diag it. i am a ford tech. i see more engine damage caused by people trying to do work they should not do with out tools or knowledge then bad maintenance habits.
