I just replaced the engine on an 01 XLT and the heater hoses were disconnected from the heater core when i bought the truck. I ran the lower heater hose under the passenger side motor mount where I thought it belonged, but the clearance between the hose and the exhaust manifold is too close. The hose has contacted the manifold twice and damaged it. I temporarily insulated it with an aluminum heat shield, but bought a new one to replace the now damaged hose and I want to make sure I have it routed as far away as possible from the engine, which means running it over the engine mount to the far side of the passenger side engine compartment. I just replaced the heater core and I really need to take a look at the factory routing. I have a manual and have been all over the internet - but cannot find this critical info. Help? Thanks.

Moved this to the appropriate section…

Some trucks have molded heater hoses. I almost never buy them (the last ones I did buy were wrong and RA wouldn’t take them back so they are hanging in my shed). I just buy bulk line and run it however it fits and stays away from things.

Might help to mention what motor you have since routing varies by motor.

This is my 2001 Ranger, 2.5 xlt, it is also the second engine. Nothing looks to be routed under the motor mount. Hope the pics help.
