So my new truck, one on the right, is nearly finished. All that is left is small things but I'm having a hard time picking a colour and haven't had a name stick yet. I figured I'd come here and see what y'all think.

The old black ranger (Frank), is getting parted out and the box will be turned into a trailer.

Well, I'd call it "an unexpected error" but that was the name of the page on your image...

Phobotucket is acting weird again...

EDIT: OK, had to go out of this message and it showed up...wow...

I'd call it David...as in David and Goliath because it looks like it could slay all the big trucks...side view would be nice...:)

I'll post a side view tonight or tomorrow when I get the truck home from the shop.

Edit, just noticed your a fellow Canadian, Vancouver Island here :)

Welcome to the Station...I have relatives out that way but haven't been to BC yet...might wait till the fires are out...still smokey from what I saw on the weather network...

Oddly enough the smoke is keeping it cooler out rather than having the sun beaming down.

On topic, truck is in the shop for another day, ebreak is the last thing to be finished so likely tomorrow if not Saturday.

Sorry for the delay, had some small issues to clear up before driving her home and it was to dark for photos by time I got home.

Still a bunch of small things that need to be worked on and some hard to find items that will need to replaced.

I think I'm going to stay flat olive/green then paint the cage and bottom half of the truck with that black box liner spray.

Still trying to decide on a name that will stick.

Good stuff~

I think the colour is fine as it is too...unless you are tired of army colours and want to go Navy or AF....:)

I did see some pics of what appeared to be a body with several incisions that looked like someone had quite an ordeal...not trying to be nosy but sometimes if there are other pics of a truck you can access them in the same album...but that wasn't the case...

I sorta had some similar surgery not too long ago (aortic aneurism repair) but my scars are all vertical...I hope if that was you that you are on the road to recovery and are not doing any work on your truck until cleared...unlike myself, who thought I was in the clear and was doing things my that nearly caused my surgeon to pass out...lol...

You can make them into separate albums when you get the time if you don't want prying eyes invading your inner most battle scars...it took me a while to figure that out...not that I have anything to hide...considering it's potential for being hacked and all that...

Creeper, lol

All good, I hide no shame of my scars, 5 time cancer survivor. Life is to short to sit idle and wait.

Wow again!

You've earned the right to say that then...and good advice to most others who sit by the river thinking the fish will come to them...

"Life is too short to sit by the river hoping the fish will jump in your lap..."

Hmmmmm....I might use that some where...some day...:)

I've been thinking about keeping the bottom trim black like it is then the body a dark blue and the cage a dark purple.

Name the truck Skeletor!

latest

That would work out nice.

I would leave the colour the way it is only because I've seen what off road trails can do to a body and anything more than basic is going to catch some damage sooner or later...but lower end done with rocker guard or something similar can help protect it...and that stuff stands up good to mud from what I've seen on my own truck.

A guy down the road has a jeep and he welded that diamond plate on most of his body...maybe because it was rusted out...but it looks good and seems to be holding up...he does quite a bit of off road stuff just judging by the amount of mud his truck has pretty much all the time...about the same colour as your truck is too...

It would all be a flat colour, rattle canned on or backyard airbrush with compressor if I can't find the right colours in rattle can. Scratches and paint damage don't bother me and they will happen. This is all just regular maintanance against surface rust to extend the body's life.

I'm doing the same with mine...I started out with a shot blasted frame and undercoated the entire body and frame with rubber guard...but still found rust 11 years later and my box rotted out because I didn't replace the wheel well guards.

So on this newer box I'm going to blast the INSIDE of the box sides where the crap splashes up. I guess where you are there is a bit less rust as I've heard they don't use the salt and chemicals in BC...in Ontario we get blasted with it.

I know the paint colour selection in rattle cans is limited, so I've stuck with the basic blue for under the hood like the booster and battery tray and black underneath...the previous owner painted the grey body parts but the paint is flaking off...I've never had that problem with rattle cans...

Rubber guard will come off with a power wash after a few years so it needs to be redone every so often ... I was so busy just trying to pay bills and stay afloat the last few years that I didn't do much...expecting the frame to last but it didn't so I had to start fresh.

It's a constant battle, but I still haven't grown tired of it all...

Yea BC isn't all that bad but they do chem and salt the roads during the winters on Vancouver Island but not nearly as bad as the Rockies and east of that.

I do have family out in Alberta and Onterible, I've seen first hand what happens to the underside of their cars/trucks and it happens fast out there if your not on top of it.
