It appears most purchases on new Ranger are done by ordering them. Does this mean haggling is not part of the purchase of a new vehicle these days? Or are there still dealers that will negotiate price on a Ranger order?

You can try but being that you are placing an order, I doubt they would accept much, if any haggling on price.

It's down to begging them for rebates and incentives.

They wouldn't do anything but msrp on our Bronco. Didn't even qualify for d plan despite like half our family working in Ford dealerships.

Now... Good luck ordering one for MSRP.

Yeah good luck. There are no deals to be had on new trucks. It's hard enough to find deals on used ones... almost all of the used Rangers I've seen locally are priced at or right under brand new MSRP. Used truck for new price...pass

Vehicle shortage for going on three years so they don't need to discount. If you don't pay full price, someone else will.
I can get the X-Plan through my employer and was going to order a 2021 but they had a 2020 that was traded on an F-150 with only 5000 miles and was 95% what I was going to order anyway and cost a little less than a 2021 with X-Plan.
This was right before the vehicle shortage got bad.

Yeah, there's pretty much no discounts now. As previously mentioned... they have no reason to cut anyone a deal anymore.. you don't wanna pay? The guy behind you will.

Fiance bought a car in June, and I couldn't even get the dealer to throw in her first oil change for free.

Cheap Truck Dilemma : Ford makes the Maverick cheap so that the "little" man can afford a decent truck. Rich guys go buy up all the cheap trucks for 20% over MSRP. Making it almost impossible for the little guy to afford a decent pick-up truck.

the only people with a truck willing to work on a deal are nissan.

i called ford to ask about ordering a maverick and actually paying what the website said and they told me they cannot control what the dealer charges when it actually shows up. so ford knows the dealer is screwing people and doesn't care which means i won't look at getting a ford anymore. at least chevy threatened to pull dealer licenses for doing the same thing on the vettes

Yes, I have to agree with all of you. I have seen some dealers that are marking up the prices by adding a few options and over charging for it.

I am highly considering forgetting about getting a new Ranger for the time being. My 02 Ranger is running so well now that I don't need a new vehicle. I was considering ordering a new 2023 Ranger because it appears that is the last year for the Super Cab. I am leaning toward just waiting to see what happens with the Super Cab and look for a used one if Ford stops making them.

interest rates went up .5% today...might affect this, sooner or later.

I think the stimulus check thing is over too...

Your best deal would be to go to a dealer and order what you want as long as they'll sell it for sticker price.
You don't have to spend a lot of money. An STX with the optional carpeting is essentially an XLT minus the extra electronic gizmos.
Averaging 20 mpg and breaking the back tires loose at 30 mph when the boost spools up is a hoot I tell ya.
