Hagan's '86 Ranger build!

Figured out my cutting out issues. Fuel pump wasn't strong enough and couldn't flow enough fuel. I upgraded to a vane style fuel pump frim Airtex.

New vs old

I finished my Painless adjustable fan controller install. It was super easy and so far works great.

what e-fan are you using? could i use that painless temp sensor with my taurus fan i just got from the jy?

or is there a cheaper jy route i could take once again?

Get you a bmw dual temp sensor and a volvo relay. Gets rid of the "temp sensor probe in the radiator" route...

SVT

I have a "painless" efan kit that had a probe that was 3/8" pipe I think that went into my intake. It runs a relay that runs my fan. The kit wasn't terribly cheap and the relay was a generic relay. Easy to make if you find the switch.

Should of just went mechanical and been done with it :icon_twisted:

Your Holly pump looks like a twin to my Mr Gasket. Wonder if one is a restickered version of the other.

LOL mechanical is the only way to go!:icon_rofl:

The pumps do look identical. I bet they are the same manufacturer.

I'm using a pusher fan off a v8 or v10 Mercedes or Jag. I can't remember which. I roamed around the junkyard for an hour looking at fans and found one I liked and felt like it pushed the most air.

Yeah you could use the Painless adjustable fan relay with the Ford Tortoise fans. My brother is using a set of Volvo fans (Same as Taurus I believe) and fan relays that have a low and high setting.

No updates on the Ranger. Although my electric choke stopped working and found out a screw in the carb backed out causing it to not close. Also, I've begun construction on a 12'x16' shed so I can move everything from my garage to my shed and begin my Cummins swap on my '89 F350

Got a little bit of work done on the Ranger. Changed the oil and made a mount for my Bussman fuse box. Got tired of seeing it flopping around under my hood. Took my Ranger out in the snow a couple times but didn't take many pics.

I've also decided to upgrade my pusher fan on my 4.0 radiator. I went with a Flex-a-lite FLX-398 16" Syclone fan. We'll see how it works out. I think it's a little bigger than my fan I'm using. I'll be using it as as pusher so hopefully it's still adequate.

I'd love to see some updated pics of this truck.

Sadly I don't take many pics of my truck anymore. But it's pretty much the same as its been for the last year.

Here is the most recent about a month ago.

Towing it with my beater. Didn't have a front driveshaft on my F350 yet.
