a tyee is a very large spring salmon, most americans call them 'king salmon'.
langara is a small island off the north west tip of haida gwaii.there's lots of major lodges there, like west coast fishing club and langara fishing lodge, and there's others in the general vicinity such as queen charlotte lodge and samson, plus a few others that all the big stars come to for a get-away.these are 5 star+ resorts for those with a lot of cash to spend.
just off the east side of langara island in dixon entrance is a good area to get yerself a tyee.
aaaaaannnyway....was making some carb linkages....
there will be a bellcrank bolted to the intake below each carb.these need to be formed from 12ga steel,as well as the brackets that hold them.i cover the steel with tape so i can draw on it with a ballpoint pen, with small parts like this a felt pen just isn't accurate enough.
after cutting them out, drilling some holes, and bending them up.....i have some linkages.the brackets will bolt to the intake studs,so i used the jig for the intakes to figure them out.the parts i'm waiting for are the ball joints that will connect everything together, but i was still able to get these ready ahead of time.
a closeup of the bellcrank.i still need to round off the corners and such,as well as get a real pivot where the drillbit is,but that's the basic shape.a link will go up to the carb from one arm on the crank, and a link between the two cranks goes on the other arm.the cable that goes from the throttle pedal to the engine pulls on this arm.
