suuuure he says it was sarcasm now.... :D

See what I mean, sarcasm goes across so much better with smileys.

Besides with the proliferation of smart phones, shouldn't he have at least been able to some way to post? Oh, wait! Even if he was posting from a typewriter rigged to a phone line, we would demand updates with pictures. Probably easier and safer (at least to a bunch of keyboards) to just wait for the company to open.

Honestly I'd be surprised if gwaii even had a cellphone. Just a hunch.

no cell phone.if someone needs to get a hold of me,they can find me:D

and the internet service here is so spotty i just assumed it was a problem with the line, and didn't look furthur.it was also a very busy weekend.

friday was a chieftan ceremony(where a new chief is named in haida)that went on well into the morning, then saturday was the traditional end-of-winter ceremony/feast.another late one.

so sunday i got some stuff done, then yesterday was all about getting jobs organised.today i worked, but should get some stuff done tonight.i'm working on the shifter right now.

some pics...

i was doing some work in the firewall area.notice the outer corner has been filled in.i only got to the left side so far.

i also formed the panel for the top of the firewall's left side.i can't install it untill i raise the body from the cage, though.

the rocker panel insert for the left side that goes behind the pipe is fitted, now i can sort out how to mount the pipes.

and the right side header is finished and installed.once the sidepipes are hung i can fire it up to see how it sounds.

Looking really good man...

bit by bit.i forgot to mention i also mounted the gas pedal, but i'm still waiting on parts for the linkage.i gotta dig around under the bimmer to see if the driveshaft will be a reasonable donor for this thing.otherwise i might make up some adapters to run a shortened explorer unit.

Glad to have you back Doc,It would have cost me 2 grand in gas to come and find your sorry butt!

Go for the bimmer if at all possible... that driveshaft clunk from the fords is annoying when its that close to you...

Used a boat one time that had a center mounted 6 cyl diesel... with a ford driveshaft running to an outdrive. that thing was annoying...

you're probably dealing with shafts that have the teflon on the splines worn out.if they're tight there should be no problem.

the thing i'm hoping for with the bimmer one is that i think it has the same bolt pattern on the flange as the jag stuff, but i have to get to it to find out.

the bimmer has the exhaust running down the tunnel below the shaft, with a heat shield between.so i can't even see it untill i take a bunch of stuff off.

Probably.
