My Grandpa left his ranger to me. Sat a couple years, I got it running and am almost finished with the body work.

Last he drove it he hit a bank, he doesn't like banks so not a bad last ride. He moved from Mexico way back in the day and since I was a child he always rocked a Ford Ranger.

The attached is my current stop point, I'm going to learn and then one day be able to share, as I now have a sentimental vehicle.

welcome to the group! my grandpa had a ranger too. (he actually had a full size ranger from the 70s and when he got rid of it, he moved up to a newer ranger like ours)

Welcome to the site.

That brings back memories.

My first vehicle at 16 was a 1988 red Ford Ranger, XLT 4x4. It had been my grandfather's. After he died, my grandma sold the truck to me for less than it was worth, and I made payments to her every month until it was paid off. I learned to drive a stick shift in her driveway, listening to a Charlie Daniels "Fire on the Mountain" cassette. I sold the truck when I was in college to pay a tax bill (didn't know you had to withhold your own taxes on 1099 contract until it was too late). I miss that truck and had wanted to keep it forever. That was sentimental. Sometimes I thought about trying to find a similar truck down south, but the decades rolled on.

I'm working on a different sentimental ranger now, but I'm still doing it with my dad in my Grandpa's garage, using some of his old tools from the 50s and learning auto repair tips that he taught to my dad half a century ago.

I hope you have a ton of fun updating your truck and think of your Grandfather when you do.

I don't like banks too much either, but I've never wanted to hold one up.

Anyway, welcome to TRS...bring your sense of humor.

The sign said "drive-thru".
