This is dumb. They almost died off, asked for money, and now are giving employees bonuses? I think GM is a being little cocky, if you ask me. This is the exact way they almost died off two years ago, spending excessively. At least Chrysler isn't being as cocky.

At least the bouns is targeted for the hard working men and women that had no choices in GM's poor decision making. If bounes were going to those CO collor's, then I would be a lot more upset since they get paid enough.

meh, tl;dr, but i'm sure next time they take a nose dive, the government won't be so quick to bail them out...

as far as chrysler goes, they didn't need even close to what chevy took for money... if i remember correctly, it was around 1/2 of what chevy took...

they already paid back their loans.

besides, no matter what, we would never see a penny of that money back, so don't worry about it.

Actually if you read the article, everyone got or will get a bonus!

Paying back half a loan is paying it off??
Wow wish I could get that kinda deal from HDFSI!
They should be charged interest, but since gm and gmac is all gov't owned now they're just a criminal enterprise!

Quicker than ever now, it's a gov't program!

GM isn't government owned, it's a private company.

and even said, YOU would never see a dime of that money no matter what, ever, so it's a moot point.

somebody could accuse you of just being jealous of the employees who got a bonus.

congratulations not not actually reading and understanding the article you linked.

WOW you just made your self look like a ass Maybe YOU should have read the article.

But the bonuses drew criticism from an opponent of the auto industry bailout in Washington who said GM should repay its entire $49.5 billion loan before offering bonuses.

"Since the taxpayers helped these companies out of bankruptcy, the taxpayers should be repaid before bonuses go out," said Republican Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa. "It sends a message that those in charge take shareholders, in this case the taxpayers, for a sucker."

The government has been repaid $23 billion but needs $26.4 billion more to recoup its whole investment. The government still owns 500 million shares of GM common stock, which would have to sell for roughly $53 per share to get all the money back.

As far as I'm concerned they owe money with the plant closings, dealership closing, hundred of employees thrown out on there asses some body need to be getting the money.

This is why I keep stupid people like him on the ignore list, RM: you don't need to be bothered by their ill-thought out replies.

my replies are not 'ill thought out'

you, as a tax payer, will never see that money again, the government will just spend it on something else.
