Its a 6ft as mines a 7ft ,but I have already removed front panel from bed & about a 8.5x9 cut out surrounding the fuel door.

My Front panel is damaged a small amount ,but I wanted to try out the new spot weld cutter so I removed from donor bed & will be going onto mine when I get around to taking bed off.

Im also going to be cutting up some sections of the side panel upper section to use for bracing as Im planning to make side pockets on both side similiar to the new Dodge trucks ,but mine will hinge down not up due to me having a ladder rack & Canopy.

I already cut the 8.5x9 section out of the rear area of my 7ft bed to make a rear fuel door for future project of 20 gal aft axle fuel tank. I got 4 strips from donor bed floor cut & spot welded to opening for extra support flange for the new fuel door section to be spot weld to before butt welding the entire cut out opening.

Was hoping to get it all welded in today ,but that damn Rain came & no room in Garage ,but there will be with in the next month.

well lets see being that it started to rain my main concern was to get all tools & welder back inside & not worry about any pics. Added pics to end of this page

Not to go off topic but can you replace a step style bed with a fleet style bed(the normal straight one)?

Yes u can. just get the bed u want(any 93-05) since in06 or so they stopped making step sides iircc

also ull need the bumper and filler hose for the tank.

EDIT: i just saw u want to go the opposite. in that case ull need a fleetside bed from any 94-11 Ranger. but make sure you replace the wiring harness if u get a 99+ bed.

ok thanks, just don't want to rule out a good truck because of the bed.(is it a easy swap?)
