Fuel Injectors ticking??

Any other ideas on how to remove them? They STILL won't move!

i dunno...never had valvecovers stick that bad before.

i know it sounds stupid...but double check you got all the bolts out :D

Yeah I double checked that all the bolts were out:huh:
I have no idea why they are so stuck! How much do you think replacement junkyard covers are? I am thinking I have to completely destroy them just to get them off!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Well I guess I will try again tomorrow. If that don't work I guess it's off to U-Pull-It :no2:

I hate Fel-Pro. The damn driver's side bolt holes and gasket fit around the cover nicely. But the passenger side is a different story. It's still leaking oil! They must have f**ked up on the mold or something because half the bolt holes are slightly over and it does not fit the valve cover close at all. I am pissed off! I had to put the bolt through part of the gasket! How can I fix this mess?

you sure you had it right side up and facing the front of the engine? it'll only fit properly one way.

if the gasket is truely messed up, id take it back and get a replacement. theres no way you should have to modify or ATV that gasket to make it seal.

I put a small dab of sealent on each bottem corner of that gasket. No leaks. My haynes book said to and so did a ford dealership when i called them. If you dont pinch the gasket to hard i wouldnt think you to need sealent though. Also check your gasket agian like wicked has said, it only fits one way but the reverse way almost seems to fit.

Yes I'm sure, tried it both ways and was the same way. I doubt that the parts store will take one side back, I had to screw in 3 of the bolts through a little of the gasket.
Would I have to take off both sides again? I really don't want to, too much sh*ts in the way and it is a pain in the a** trying to get the covers off.

Do you have the World Products Heads???
see differences here http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/2_9_Page.html

I noticed when I did mine, (I have the WP heads), and I had to take the lip that overhangs on the Valve Cover (VC), (not the flat where the gasket sits, this still must be flat/parallel to the mating area,... but...the 90* bend outside of the gasket area. and bend it out slightly to out, fit over the thicker head material. The thicker head material was standing the VC up so it wouldn't sit properly.

some VC may not have this extra bend.??

Is there any stamp on the WP heads? I don't think I have those, the old gasket I took off had a rubber-cork compound with little metal balls in it, I think those are OEM. But someone may have replaced the heads for all I know.

I would try doing an oil change, minus one quart, replace that missing quart with a quart of Marvel mystery oil, or resoline. drive it for a week. Then change the erl and filter. Shut my lifter up. Still ticks on a cold morning untill it warms up, but im not pulling the heads anytime soon to change one noisy lifter.

If that was directed to me, I changed it already and silenced my problem as well. Which do you use?
