I changed out the fuel pump and sending unit on my 93 ranger. when the gauge reaches 1/4 of a tank the truck will sputter and die, almost as if the gauge is correct but the fuel pump does not sit low enough in the tank. has anyone else had this issue??

I was wondering how you know that the fuel pump does not sit low enough

Either something is bent, loose, or the strainer isn't sitting low enough in the tank.

it is possible that the gauge doesn't read accurate also, how much can you fit in your tank when it sputters and dies?

I was curious because there is a possibility that the float arm needs to be adjusted. also the tank could have a significant amount of trash in it.

HAh Ha ha
At last somebody else, thought I was loosing it
On mine
A puting it in I tweaked the float rod thing getting it through the access hole ,so I bent it back.
B the strainer had come off. After market POC ,went trough and bent the little clip things to provide more grab
I guess that was it as it can run to E now.

Sweet!!!!!!!! Glad I could help1
