Front Fuel Leak 1993 Ranger 4.0 XLT Auto

I'm pretty sure that Dorman kit is fittings that should fit the fuel pump and or filter. Not at the engine.

AFAIK nobody makes the fitting at the engine. The ones on the other side of the braided line are available IIRC.
That's what I'm thinking as well.

I’ll have to find it, I found some Dorman fittings that converted the factory line to -6 AN but they got taken down to my shop I think and I don’t remember the part number

Would I be able to use these brass barbed couplers or should I use these Dorman fuel line unions?

We'll know better once you get the elbow off. My thought is this. It looks like there is an adapter fitting between the elbow and the fuel rail. If so, it is probably normal pipe threads in the regulator. So, a straight adapter with male pipe threads on one end and the -6AN threads on the other end will let you attach that -6AN elbow. Or there may be a better adapter for that.

Yes I agree, I'll evaluate the fitting when I remove it. I believe there's threads on that regulator fitting..So I would need a female fitting, no? Something like this in the photos below. If so would I be able to connect an PTFI line to that nipple coming off that female fitting? The website isn't specific about fuel pressure capabilities, so it's confusing if I can use this for a 60psi fuel line. I guess I could call them.

Link for that fitting from the evil energy website.

AN to Barb Fittings

The Ultimate AN to Barb Adapter Solutions for Leak-Free Plumbing

In high-performance fluid transfer, integrating traditional rubber push-on hoses into an AN-standard system is a common necessity. Evil Energy fittings are designed to bridge this gap with professional-grade reliability. Our AN to Barb fitting series is CNC-machined from aerospace 6061-T6 aluminum, featuring a precision-engineered hose barb with a beaded design to ensure maximum retention under pressure. Whether you are plumbing a fuel return line or a custom coolant bypass, our barbed fitting provides the mechanical clamping force required to prevent accidental blow-offs.

The Science of a Professional Barbed Hose Fitting

A standard hose barb often lacks the surface consistency needed for a true seal. Evil Energy’s AN barb fitting line utilizes an optimized barb angle that allows for easy hose installation while providing aggressive resistance against 'hose creep.' When paired with a high-quality clamp, our barbed hose fitting creates a multi-point seal that withstands high-heat and high-vibration environments.

  • Evil Energy AN Fittings: Hard-anodized for full compatibility with E85, diesel, and racing gasoline, ensuring your AN to Barb connection never corrodes.
  • AN to Barb Fitting: Features a standard 37-degree flare on the AN side and a precision-cut hose barb on the other, serving as the perfect adapter for modern builds.
  • AN Barb Fitting: Available in sizes from AN4 to AN12, ensuring your AN to Barb transition fits any fuel rail or tank sump perfectly.

Why Professional Builders Choose Evil Energy Barbed Fitting

In the racing community, the biggest fear is a fuel leak at the an to barb junction. Evil Energy fittings address this by ensuring every barbed hose fitting is inspected for micro-burrs that could slice the inner liner of your hose. As an experienced AN Barb fitting user, you will notice the superior 'bite' our barbed fitting offers, providing peace of mind during high-pressure operation.

  • Evil Energy Fittings: Setting the industrial standard for hose barb precision and safety.
  • AN to Barb: Compact profiles allow for seamless routing in tight engine bays or near firewall clearances.
  • Barbed Fitting: Available in straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree configurations to solve any complex plumbing challenge.
Upgrade your fuel system today with the Evil Energy AN to Barb Fittings Collection. Replace your old adapters with a professional barbed hose fitting designed for the track. Choose evil energy AN fittings for a secure AN Barb fitting connection that lasts as long as your engine does.

And Also,,,, If I cut the PTFE line a few inches away from that elbow, I'm sure I can piece in another line. Your thoughts?

It’s been awhile since I’ve had one apart, but from what I remember standard fittings don’t work. They’re a weird fitting. Why Ford chose to do that is beyond me. Some knucklehead engineer should be hung by his underwear from a lamp post for that.

Isn't the engine German? So the threads may very well be metric,.ill know later today.
