We have had some setbacks with parts ordered this last few weeks. We have been waiting this whole week for our billet flexplate to get the trans in so we can finish the exhaust and get the dimensions for our driveshaft we need to order. Well it was suppose to ship Monday (after this company order it from the builder the day he was leaving for vacation) and only take a day, by Thursday morning I called found out it didn’t get shipped. He shipped it out and I got it tonight, it was the wrong freaking one, it was a 6 bolt I need an 8 bolt. So now I have to wait for culhane to get back from vacation and then figure out if we can’t exchange and get it shipped directly to me. So that will probably take another week.
We have been doing little things to complete the front end, like undercoating the glass and cleaning the bumper up and getting it ready for paint. We added a layer to the bedsides to get that rubber look, its sole purpose is to reduce spider cracks from rocks, that is why only portion of hood done. Only things we had left to do was install the new resi seals on the front bypasses to fix the leak and install idler and pitman arm pulley along with belt.
The pulley’s were another headache, I found a guy

Four weeks ago I call him give him my credit card and he said it would ship that Friday. Two Fridays go by so on the following Tuesday I call him, tells me he never shipped it because he could not charge my card because he forgot to renew his Quickbooks. Said if I still wanted it to pay paypal or money order, I told him I think about it. Check rock auto it was 20.00 ship to my door and I knew it be here in 3 days max. Call him back because I was willing to pay 10-20 extra for blue billet ones instead of stock. My stipulations were that he ship it out that day with usps priority and get me delivery confirmation email and I would pay him right then and there on paypal. Friday comes along no email, so I email him saying this is bad business and not happy, I get an email later with him agreeing on bad business and a ups link not usps and says a order has been set up waiting for package to be taken to ups. Next Monday arrives still says same thing, email him again asking what’s the deal. He responds he is closing the website because he can’t put the time into it and he will refund me, a day later and 3 more emails finally get refund. So in the end I order from rock auto and got stock ones today and install.
I order a belt a month ago from rock auto; it was not the right size. They do not have a non ac for my car and then I have a smaller alt and larger power steering pulley. I do a string measurement and exchange at a local store costing me as much additional as would have just to order rock auto one, and this one was now to small.
So that has been the crap I have been going through with parts. As it stands right now I need a belt to finish front besides electrical. We cannot work on the underneath of the truck, so I think we’re just going to work on the dash and rest of cab as much as we can and maybe jump on to the things in the rear. I am hoping these issues do not get us to far behind schedule, the transmission is really holding us up…we don’t want to do all the mounting and have to pull it back down, due to its weight so we want all the parts so it goes in until its time for tear down/maintenance.
