F@#$%^&* Thieves.....

Generally, you can shoot to protect yourself unless you live in one of those pathetic eastern states.

Georgia has the Castle doctrine, none of that duty to retreat BS, you can legally defend yourself at home, work or, given the legal conceal carry permits (as there is no permit for open carry), any damn wheres that you can legally carry a gun. You may also defend total strangers if you happen to stumble accross a mugging or soemthing of the sort.

I'm glad I don't live in one of them "pathetic" eastern states. :icon_thumby:

On the matter of your shed's security, get some claymore mines, rig 'em up, and when the cops take your report of why total strangers got blown to hell, tell them you collect war antiques and they must of been screwin with 'em.

I'm surprised DoorGunner didn't suggest that one already. :icon_twisted:

But really, you're about the third person to suggest that one.... wonder where I can find some clays.... lol

Didn't you hear? Obama is credited with 100,000+ illegal immigrants leaving the country....

The reason being?

The economy is better in Mexico......

Sad but true............

So far no luck.... but the cheese is in the trap.... let 'em come back for more.... it's gonna hurt....

Really?! Where did you read this?

I just Googled Castle Doctrine. Interesting. Also, the claymore idea is hilarious and awesome! War antiques collector... :icon_twisted:

If you know the use of force model then you detain them at gun point. I have done this before here in IN. Guy tried to steal my stereo and detained him until the police arrived. I got 'talked to' by the cops about it but I would do it again in a heart beat. I work hard for what little I have and I will be damned if anyone tries to take it from me. They said they like the creative use of zip ties though.

Awesome.

Thanks for the reminder of why my helicopter got 600 holes in it one day....the N.V.A. stole a claymore & set it off as our chinook was landing in a hot L.Z..the blast knocked us aloose from our machine guns for a couple seconds...only one crewmember out of five got hit/he still kept spraying the bushes with his M16 from the tail end of the helicopter......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (my amnesia needs a little boost every now & then)

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhahhahaaaaaaaaaaaa....weeeeze!

There was a guy a couple years ago that got tired of people breaking into his empty rental house and messing it up, so he rigged a shotgun pointed at the door so if the door opened it went off.

It worked great, but if it wasn't storming and the kids car wasn't sitting down the road broken down the guy might not have gone to prison. Even then though it is hard to claim self defense if you are not there.

Similar thing happened here bout 20 years ago....druggies kept breaking into his house when he went on trips.....so he rigged a shotgun/string to his back door...came home after a few days....found a dead crackhead....the guy got prision time.......go figure!!!

When I go visit the Sunshine state (Florida), I am welcomed by a billboard that homeowners are legally allowed to shoot intruders-

true, i dont know what the rules in PA are though. in NC, the criminal has to have forced his way into your home before you're authorized to use deadly force. just being on your property will land you in a jail cell real quick, even if you dont kill them.

i love canada's laws, first you have to know if it's a criminal offence, or not...

Section 494. (Criminal Code)[8]

(1) ARREST WITHOUT WARRANT BY ANY PERSON

Anyone may arrest without warrant(s)

(a) a person whom he finds committing an indictable offence; or

(b) a person who, on reasonable grounds, he believes

(i) has committed a criminal offence, and
(ii) is escaping from and freshly pursued by persons who have lawful authority to arrest that person

(2) ARREST BY OWNER, ETC., OF PROPERTY

Anyone who is

(a) the owner or a person in lawful possession of property, or

(b) a person authorized by the owner or by a person in lawful possession of property

may arrest without warrant a person whom he finds committing a criminal offense on or in relation to that property.

(3) DELIVERY TO PEACE OFFICER

Any one other than a peace officer who arrests a person without warrant shall forthwith deliver the person to a peace officer.

essentially, if you own the property, you can arrest anyone for committing any CRIMINAL offense, if you do NOT own the property, you can only arrest for indictable offenses (more serious offenses) theft however, is an indictable (all indictable offenses are criminal... criminal offenses are typically categorized as 2 things, summary, or indictable)

once you know if you can arrest for that, you are legally justified in using force, here's where the canadian use of force guidelines come into effect, and where you get to have fun...

you are also authorized to use force to keep people FROM committing an offence...

Use of force to prevent commission of offence

27. Every one is justified in using as much force as is reasonably necessary

(a) to prevent the commission of an offence

(i) for which, if it were committed, the person who committed it might be arrested without warrant, and

(ii) that would be likely to cause immediate and serious injury to the person or property of anyone; or

(b) to prevent anything being done that, on reasonable grounds, he believes would, if it were done, be an offence mentioned in paragraph (a).

R.S., c. C-34, s. 27.

there is a limitation however...

Section 26. (Criminal Code) Every one who is authorized by law to use force is criminally responsible for any excess thereof according to the nature and quality of the act that constitutes the excess.

and for some reason i can't seem to find the section right now, but as for using force while making an arrest, the guideline is
any person effecting an arrest is authorized to as much force as is necessary
which should be interpreted as "no more force than is necessary"

what sucks it they only care about their drug fix, and how to pay for it.

the dog is fine (better then my wallet)the dog got his stitches out today. he went with me to pick up a rebuilt transmission 30 miles away and to his vet 40 miles from where we were. he enjoyed the ride.

i am 80% sure i know where the dude lives. i got enough info from a neighbor whom he was soliciting for scrap. to trace down where he lives and the description of his truck fits his truck. the only thing keeping me from seeking revenge is the fear of getting caught. it just dont seem worth it.

go show up at his house, ask him... what's he going to do? call the police and tell them you saw something that looked like it was your axle in his back yard

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhahhahaaaaaaaaaaaa....weeeeze!

you rang?

Looks like I need to move to Canada.

Whenever the day should come that I can afford to build a house, I'm also gonna booby trap and fortify the hell out of the land. There will be a moat. Filled with Alligator Gar. No, i'm not kidding.

I loved the Castle doctrine when I first read about it. This town isn't horrible, but it sure as hell isn't crime free. That's why I always have a crowbar next to my driver's seat. Thankfully I've only had to pull it out a handful of times. As soon as I'm 21 I'm gettin my conceal carry permit and a Colt New Agent DAO. :icon_thumby:
