I can tell I'm getting older, it takes a couple days for me to adjust to less sleep per night. Back a few years ago I was living on 2-3 hours of sleep a night....

NC is doing the same thing this december i believe. you'll be authorized to use deadly force if someone illegally enters your home (ie, forcibly breaks in). they dont have to present some sort of weapon for you to assume they are there to do you or your family harm.

Scrap thieves. It's 11c a pound right now. I took ~800# of junk down to the yard a few weeks ago, just a loose pickup load of crap we had lying around, and got $90.

Ninety bucks is a lot of dough to a guy that scraps. Most of us don't think about it. You steal a full-size pickup or old Chrysler Newport out of a field, that's $400.

Generally, you can shoot to protect yourself unless you live in one of those pathetic eastern states. You go out to confront thieves, don't point a gun at them. Tell them the haul ass. If they attack you, shoot them. If they haul ass, call the cops.

If you know the use of force model then you detain them at gun point. I have done this before here in IN. Guy tried to steal my stereo and detained him until the police arrived. I got 'talked to' by the cops about it but I would do it again in a heart beat. I work hard for what little I have and I will be damned if anyone tries to take it from me. They said they like the creative use of zip ties though.

Scrap thieves hit my house over the summer too. fortunately they only took "scrap" an left our good parts, we guess they took bout 1000lbs. my neighbor watched them take it all in broad daylight, figured we told them to have it.

with today's economy, people will do anything for money. a guy down here tried to steal a huge piece of copper off a transformer at substation a few years ago. it didnt work. he ended up looking like a grasshopper that landed on a bug zapper.

true, i dont know what the rules in PA are though. in NC, the criminal has to have forced his way into your home before you're authorized to use deadly force. just being on your property will land you in a jail cell real quick, even if you dont kill them.

Salvage yards have constant video monitoring and everyone dropping off scrap must provide 2 forms of photo ID. Some yards even require finger prints be taken.
This thieving will just get worse and in Florida mexicans are the worst offenders......that's right President Obama....MEXICANS!
