Most auto parts places can build A/C hoses. If one goes out it isn't like you lost anything, you are just back to where you would be if you didn't do anything. Make sure they don't rub on anything and they should last a long time.
My plan is mostly a second gen system with the Explorer compressor manifold adapted into the mix.
I see 90's also used a manifold at the compressor, wonder how they fit...
