Ever tried getting into the wrong truck?

I worked for a car dealership....standard procedure was to let the delivery guy off-load the vehicles and line them up with the keys in the ignition/I would inspect them for damge/sign the paperwork/release the delivery driver/then I would park each vehicle in the correct location placing the paperwork on the dash/lock the vehicle & turn the keys in with a copy of the invoice....

Well.....I had one piece of paperwork left.....but NO VEHICLE....seems as though 2 10-year-olds snuck onto the lot and drove off with a brand new Ford LTD....they ran out of gas because the factory only put a gallon of gas in each vehilcle back in the old days!

(We changed the procedure immediately after that little incident :icon_rofl: )

Not my truck, but a '57 Ford I once owned. After work I drove off and thought it was odd that the red dash looked blue under the street lights. Looked in the back seat and saw a baby seat (sans baby, luckily). Since I couldn't remember what space it was parked in I just made a best guess when I returned it. My key not only fit the door lock but also the ignition.

And Bobby, you see at least three or four trucks that look just like that at almost every Tractor Supply around here.

oilfield must be working then.....i have had to turn my truck around in pa under direct threat of immediate tow 2 times....been threatened to be thrown out or towed to a shop for compliance more then that.

the funny thing is that it can indeed be found grazing in tsc parking lots a few times a week hunting for trufflewrenches and such:D

There!

I updated my avatar so's I don't get in the rong truk!

My trucks are too unique to get mixed up.

One time on family vacation when I was little the whole family got mixed up and filed up to a similar first generation white Explorer when we noticed it had a tan interior instead of blue. I think we caught ourselves before we tried to unlock it.

It was identical down the brand/model of the cartop box aside from the interior and Nevada plates.

Ever walked up to your recently purchased crew cab and tried to put the key in the back door or better yet used the remote to unlock it, get in the back seat and wonder where the heck is the steering wheel? Before four door pickups were commonplace, passengers regularly opened the back door first. At least I did!

I have walked up to several big trucks thinking it was mine, but haven't actually tried to open the wrong truck yet. Mine is a viper red W900, which are fairly common in the heavy hauling trade. Night time and dark parking lots make for lots of entertainment.
