Ever tried getting into the wrong truck?

On a similar note...when I had my Tempo I was in a coffee shop and a woman comes in frantic...she locked her keys in her car and nobody had a coat hanger...when I walked out she was parked beside my car...a similar Tempo...I said "let me try my keys" and they worked...she freaked out...lol

I used to work construction and we had like 10 white crew cab utility body trucks. We also had a crack/meth addict working for us.

It was a cold winter day and the crack addict needed to get warm. So he walks off and an hour later we are like where in the eff did he go he's not in the truck.

Upon further looking around. He had got into another truck (non company truck) fell asleep. We woke him like dude what are you doing? He took a drink from a coffee cup in the console got out and I was like don't forget your coffee. He responded with oh thats not mine.

My trucks a one of kind. Not another like in the world, as of yet; but I have had issues with wondering how in the world my parents Suburban always seems to be shorter than I remember:icon_confused:

GM's were/are known for using only a few different keys for the doors.

I could open 4 different S10's/1500's with the key to the old chevy we had

Ford only has about 8 useable tooth patterns and has used the same key blank for 90% of the cars built in the last 13 years. I could probably walk through Walmart's parking lot and open at least 3 random cars on any given day.

Once yes, and once kind of.

Back in high school, many moons ago, I was just learning to drive. My stepmom had a blue Dodge Caravan (very common around that time, mid-90's). I had to go to the town library to pick something up, asked if she'd take let me take the van. I only had a permit, so she had to come with me. We get tot he library, I run in, grab my book or whatever I was getting, and run back out, and hop in the driver's seat of our blue Dodge Caravan. Then I notice my stepmom isnt' there.

Then I look out the driver's side window and see our van, two cars over, and my stepmom laughing hysterically at me.

Oops.

I also used to drive a Ford Escort wagon. Was visiting my dad's one day, asked to borrow his Ford Ranger to get some stuff at Home Depot. Got out of the Depot, hopped in the truck, put the key in the ignition, and could NOT for the life of me get the key to turn. I thought I was going crazy. I triple checked to make sure I was in the right truck, and I definitely was. Called my dad saying something was wrong with his ignition, it just wouldn't turn, no matter how much I moved the wheel or whatever. He hopped in his other car to come and help me, and when he was probably about halfway to meet me... i realized I had been trying my Escort key the entire time.

I had a similar situation to Bobman's van story once.

I was still on my permit, took my mom to the store in out van, which was not a common one, but not unique either. Mom ran into the store, I stayed in the can chillin out and suddenly the door opens. Some woman thought it was her similar-looking van and about peed herself when she found me sitting in the driver's seat.

And Bobby, you see at least three or four trucks that look just like that at almost every Tractor Supply around here.

My truck is like BOBBYWALTER's....nothing else like it. So, no its never happened.

Oh yeah. I was working for one the big trucking companies once upon a time, and all the trucks were practically identical.
One day after cranking out 750 miles, I pulled into a truckstop, got out, and walked in. Did my thing, and walked back to the first red truck I saw. Well, at least it was a KW, like mine. I thought it wasn't quite right where I put it, but oh well, I jumped in. The first thing I noticed was the curtain was drawn, and there was crap on the passenger seat, neither of which would be found in my truck. After a couple WTF's, the curtain slid open, and this guy said, "Can I help you"? Luckily this guy had a sense of humour, I was lucky I wasn't smacked in the back of the head, and then asked that question. Embarrassing.:icon_cheers:

O.K........i used all my reps for the next 24 hours :annoyed:

Some of y'all know already but I work part time occasionally in a semitruck body shop;
Last summer we had 3 invoices on trucks from General Truck and were to pick up one a week for 3 weeks. Well I got the order wrong and picked up number 3 first. We already had a key and everything for all of them. They reported the truck stolen before calling us lol. After they realized we should of already picked up the first truck they called and asked about truck 3. Hahaha. All was good tho.
