Escorts 2nd SAS

Meh. The SD unit bearings are what all other unit bearings wish they were.

Anyone know if you can swap knuckles out from a 97 down D50 or 60 (same thing) to a SD axle?

Good question. Was just thinking of the same thing.

I would say no. My SD 60 was very differnet compared to my pre-99 D60

Yes you can there are some threads floating around about it. 1999-2004? are all the same size all of the 05+ is larger.

If you do end up with a SD axle. Rock solid performance in Michigan is making high steer knuckles for SD front axles. Relatively cheap too.

Why bother ream the knuckles out and go OTK. It keeps it out of the rocks plenty.

Alternator went out this morning on the way to work. Question is, will the 130 amp from an explorer bolt right in?

Yep. Direct fit

Anyone know if any others fill fit? Something with a higher amperage?
Someone on FB said an F250 alt will fit?

The PowerStroke alt is a direct bolt on, just have to use your 6 rib pulley, buts just 130A same as an Expo.

Power Master makes 200+ amp alts, but they are far from cheap.

Yeah, I don't have that kind of coin right now. Going to Take-a-Part tomorrow and get one...that's why I was asking what else will fit.

Has to be an OHV 4.0....the SOHC and 5.0 use a different alt. The bolts are spaced different and they dont have the little single wire plug. They also have a black steel cover on the back.
