Does anyone know if the SD dana60 have CAD?

I have never seen a CAD SD.

Eventually yes. I want to upgrade everything...39" tires, 5.0, etc... But this won't happen for a while. So I have decided to start looking for parts now and buy whenever I get extra coin.

And maybe one of these days try for the ultimate adventure?

if you know you're going that far eventually... do it all in the next phase, don't do an in between phase... :icon_thumby:

If it isn't going to happen for two years, now's the time to start researching and gathering stuff.

It will be changed all at once. But I do see the 5.0 swap happening first....

Sd 60 isnt CAD it has locking hubs same as a regular 60

that's good to hear.

That's the plan. Buy it when I get the money and store it.

Go find a pinch point for one off your front tires, and romp on the gas, that should speed up the progress.

Thats what I did... LOL

They do not. But the trucks with an electric case have vacuum operated lockouts. However, those are easiler replaced with manual lockouts.

Also, many 99-02 F250s have straight Dana 50s. Keep that in mind. Basically small guts in a D60 housing.

SD axles are metric 8 lug too.

As long as you can get both axles from the same truck thats not such a big deal anymore. Tons of aftermarket for them or get h1s with a super duty pattern. If i was to put tons on a ranger theyd be super duty 60/10.25 they fit way too well (on leaves) the perch width is just wider then the frame so its easy easy to build hangers

You can also machine the hubs for 5x5.5" bolt pattern and run 1/2 ton brakes or somthing im not totally sure. My buddy is doing it with his explorer to match his rear 9"

We posted at the same time but you can machine the hubs to fit 5x5.5 at least i know the older 60s you can. I remember seeing aftermarket unit bearings on pirate with different lug patterns

I might be trimming the fenders this weekend. Tired of eating up the edges of the tires. I have a plan and hope it turns out ok.

and unit bearings... ewww

lol

Meh. The SD unit bearings are what all other unit bearings wish they were.

Anyone know if you can swap knuckles out from a 97 down D50 or 60 (same thing) to a SD axle?
