Escorts 2nd SAS

Hopefully next year I will be able to go, all depends on what kind of gas mileage I get and if I get what I need done......done.

Sounds like bundy hill was nice to your truck.

I just wish I was able to drive mine but that wont be until sometime next week.

Yep. Just a little. It looks the like steering box case is cracked. That is where it looks like the fluid is coming from...I think. So yeah, Bundy Hill. LOL

Going through and pricing everything for the steering upgrade. So far, I think a wj knuckle conversion with all the steering components will be my best bet....depending on if I can get everything at the Take-a-part that is in good condition.

if you want an upgrade of more than just the v8 ZJ stuff, yes. the crossover(?) you can do with the WJ is NICE!

Definitley a great setup. Altho drilling the rotors out could be a pita every time you change them. Ruffstuff sells the offset TRE's for those knuckles as well.

ain't there a Sport Trac rotor that will fit and give you the right pattern?

if not, I would honestly say get adapters. Good adapters are plenty strong. Not trying to start that argument here tho.

adapters on the front, spacers on the rear, get a little wider stance!

^ That's a great idea BUT most people dont have the luxury of that. For most people, it's the law that gets in the way (tires sticking out). Then you have to think about buying new wheels, keeping 2 different spares, steering components wearing out faster, etc....

yeah, I live in Mississippi... that law is there, but not enforced so... :D

From all that I have read the sporttrac rotors will work but not perfectly either.
The center hub hole in sporttrac rotors is slightly too small which means either turning down the unit bearing hub or opening up the rotor to fit. Also the thickness of the rotor and the distance of the braking surface to the "hat" or wheel mounting surface is different, which then means spacing out the rotor and caliper using washers or small spacers....janky if you ask me. Drilling out the rotors really isnt that bad compared to all of that.

make sure you have a drill press.

What I think I will do is use the stock wj draglink to the luckless, then use 1ton gm tre with 1.5 x .25 DOM. The RAM will be mounted to where the track bar mounts on the axle. This is why I need to go high steer to move the track bar out of the way. Make a relocation bracket similar to teraflex design. The other part of the ram will be mounted using a tube clamp so I will be able to adjust alignment if needed. I will post a picture of what i intend to do.

I will use everything except bearing from the wj. And the xj rotors will be moved to the rear axle and use Chevy calipers with my own brackets.
