Escorts 2nd SAS

Tomorrow I will be calling Tom Woods to see about making me a front driveshaft and Texas Gear for transmission bearings. And then, call my uncle at National Drivetrain and see what he can get me for a master kit for an ex 8.8.

Why not just make a front driveshaft? If you have lock in hubs, you can use a JY shaft for the slip and CV, then sleeve it with .25" wall. It will only spin when in 4wd and you will only need it at lower speeds. I could see getting a woody for the rear.

Won't work. It's live all the time. And reason its bent is the cv doesn't have enough operating angle. And this is my 2nd jy driveshaft for this truck. From what I seen, Woods makes a different cv than what i have now? That why I want to call them and find out.

woods makes a great shaft. it's worth the money.. you'll be happy with it.

Oh my bad bud. I didn't know your front axle was live all the time. Jess at High Angle Drive line is a good dude too.

Tom Woods drive shafts are great as well.

Forgot about them. I'll have to give them a call.

Anyways, didn't get a chance to make any calls the last two days. Now i have to work the next 3 days, so hopefully Monday I can get some work done.

Found a saginaw pump for a ford with the horse shoe adapter.... $35

That's a steal. I just sold my extra one to a member on here for 75. I paid 100 for the one I'm using now

Nice, I love my Hobart welders.

So besides the hydro assist are you changing the steering setup at all? What other mods will you be doing to the truck?

The steering I haven't decided on yet. I know I need high steer to make room for the hydro ram. Either I do the wj knuckle conversion, get the high steer bracket yj bracket that bolts to the xj knuckle, or just make a crossover style....what I need to do is raise the axle mounting location of the trackbar.
Other mods are explorer 8.8 axle, rear bumper, possible Chevy 64" leaves, and a transmission rebuild. Plus a few minor fixes that I can't think of right now. The rear axle that i have now ie shot. Axle shafts are worn out from bad bearings and I think the pass side shaft is bent.
