EPA To Wipe Out Lead Bullets

So lead is ok to eat?

Or eagles and coyotes know to pick around the lead shrapnel in a carcass? I know lead deer slugs blow into many small pieces when they hit a bone (and the bone does too) Ducks and geese know not to eat it as they eat aquatic plants and bugs off the bottom of ponds?

I wouldn't eat it, but I bet you some fancy high dollar restaurant would serve it and make you pay hundreds of dollars.

If you're shooting lead slugs you're probably not hunting. Lead rounds are for target practice. In pistols and slow moving rifles like .22's, .357's, .30-30's. Most people shoot jacketed bullets. They contain lead but volume wise it's like 40%. That's 60% less than people lead the public to believe. If you're not hunting with jacketed bullets then it's probably lead free.
Here in my area of Cali the lead in animals hasn't changed one bit since the lead ban I think it's been 5 years now. Lead occurs naturally and animals ingest it. I've yet to hear of one animal that has ever had lead in its stomach from ingestion.

In Iowa you options are muzzleloader, archery or shotgun. The deer slugs I run are solid lead. I have picked enough lead shot out of turkey and pheasant as I eat it to be leary of it.

Metallic lead is not "Bio available"

Mercury is more toxic than lead and there are people who routinely
and intentionally swallow metallic mercury in teaspoon amounts...

with no material harm.....

not something I would do, but
