hey all new to site name is Courtney from alberta Canada.
im looking to convert my 2001 ford ranger single cab shortbox SPLASH 2wd 3.0L Manual transmission into a 4x4 as well as swap the 3.0 for a 4.0 since I will be needing a 4x4 transmission and tcase
current truck: 2001 ranger single cab shortbox 3.0 manual transmission torsion bar front suspension so it has the brackets for the differential already
donor truck: 2000(previous model) ranger extended cab shortbox 4.0 automatic transmission electric tcase torsion bars
questions:
will the 2000 4.0L swap into the 2001 3.0 location?
what will be an issue?
will I have any issue connecting anything? (ie, throttle cables, engine harnesses,MAF,etc?)
i will be swapping the 3.0 man trans for a 4.0 man trans from another truck
what will i all need from the ther truck im getting the 4.0 trans from?
will the slave clylinder,clutch linkages,etc all bolt into place as with the 3.0 was?
my biggiest concern is i don't want to buy a 2000 ranger when mine is the 2001-2005 ranger style and have to find out everything isn't compatible because of the year difference and model difference.
im hoping nothing changed major between them and i can use this donor truck as i need the body parts off it as well.
