I am going to replace the old relay and connector in my 86 ford ranger, and I am wondering if anyone knows what amperage the new one should be? thanks all!

I'm sure that's right, but it seems many websites need to know that. Most references to relays that I've come across tell people that they are super rare 60 amp parts that can only be found on Ford vehicles
