Ecu swap?

Anyone know if i can use a 1st gen explorer 4.0 auto ecu to use in my 2000 explorer 4.0ohv engine swap in my 97 ranger to get around the anti theft?? Its in a racer so all it has to do is start and run properly dont care about all the extra b/s.

Never mind im a complete idiot. Brain fart.... prior to 96 would be eec4 ecu and my swap it eec5 ecu. everythings way different. Need to find a 96-98 ranger 4.0 ecu without anti theft to fix my problem.
