Dually wheel seal

Just like it reads I got a buddy of mine that has a late 90's early 2000ish 3500 cummins dually that has a leaking wheel seal. Never done a seal on one of these but I told him I would help him out. He showed me the wheel seal and it looks like a piece of metal about 1/2 inch thick with a rubber seal in the middle. Does this seal go into the axle housing or is this one that will have to be pressed on?

It should be pressed into the back of the wheel hub assembly, very similar to the front wheel seal on your D44 wheel hub.

Thanks Johnny. I talked to my buddy today and told him I should be able to do it. He said yeah i've done hundreds of them. He let me use him tire changer so im guessin he just wants me do it for pay back so there shouldnt be any problem. He dosent feel like smellin like gear lube. I just wanna say this site freakin rocks. Everybody on here has got some info they can share from experience. Thanks again.

It should be pressed into the back of the wheel hub assembly, very similar to the front wheel seal on your D44 wheel hub.

You need to place a thick layer of grease over the entire unit and before installing the new bearings and the new grease seals into the hub.
