I know that this topic has been discussed before but my laptop is down for a few days and I am not a fluent in using taptalk. My 87 4 x 4 dual tank truck is sagging on the fuel tank side. Will new springs fix this issue? If I replace the springs do I need new bushings or are they installed when I get them? My truck is a rust bucket what else should I replace while I have it apart?

Check for broken leaves within the d-side spring pack. If you find any that are broke, then for sure replacing the springs should help. Also check the integrity of your spring hangers and shackles.

Most springs I have seen have bushings pre-installed.

Expect nightmares trying to get the spring & shackle bolts out if they're rusty (go buy a couple cutting discs for your angle grinder if you don't have any... Sawzalls don't work here, the bushing sleeves are too hard for the blade teeth).

If you live in the rust belt look at the mounts for the leafs as far as taking them apart get new bolts all the bushings and a torch and go to town and dont forget new ubolts its not good to reuse them and they get cut off most of the time anyways
