does 2.9 v6 have a fuel pump relay?

Yes it does

They are color coded
The Green one is Fuel Pump relay, Brown is the EEC(computer) relay, Black one is only there if you have AC, WOT relay, it turns off AC Compressor when you press down gas pedal all the way(wide open throttle) to give driver extra power to pass or...........??

The EEC Relay powers most of the engine systems and the computer, also powers the fuel pump relay, NOT the pump just the relay, Key ON activates the EEC relay


1990 is OBD1 so will have an OBD1 connector in engine bay, usually by the fuse box
The OBD1 connector has a test slot for fuel pump relay

If you GROUND that slot and key is ON, then you should hear the fuel pump relay "click" on, and fuel pump should start as well
Fuel pump will stay on until you remove the ground in that slot, or turn the key off, doesn't hurt anything
The computer normally grounds that slot(on the back) to control the fuel pump relay

Computer only grounds the fuel pump relay for 2 seconds, just after key is turned on
It will NOT ground it again until RPMs are above 400, engine started, cranking speed is only 200rpm
But you can turn key OFF and then ON again to get 2 more seconds, as much as you want
Or Ground the slot, lol
