Disk brake noise

So my front disk brakes are screeching loudly when I brake. I have cleaned the pads and rotor THOROUGHLY, twice, with many cans of brake cleaner, and there is no difference. I recently bought 'Disk brake quiet' spray to see what it would do but the directions say to spray it on the back of the pads. does this really work? The noise is coming from the contact side and I don't think applying anything to the back would fix anything.

Any ideas?

Yes, it could work. If the pads are vibrating at a very high rate of speed and something is used to stop these vibrations, that will help.

Run your nail over the surface of the rotors.

Are they smooth like glass or rough/wavy/grooved?

If they are anything other than smooth or if there is a rust lip anywhere, get them machined and then get new pads.

ORRRRRRRRRRR.......

bend the metal warning-tab away from the rotor so it doesn't rub (but then you won't know that the pads are about shot):icon_bounceblue:

Oh I hate those stupid squealers. They never do their job right anyway.
