The body is flexing. Rear ds body mount is poor and the ps one doesn't exist anymore. Damn rust.

did you ever get those stone crusher ra extensions put on? id like to see some pics of them mounted if you've got em.

Ok so I replaced my ball joints last week and finally found a place that had the tie rod I needed in stock. Now I still have a problem. I am camping right now, but on the highway coming here I noticed a lot of swaying. Pretty sure it wasn't the steering. It stayed straight, but everytime I hit a bump the hole body rocked back and forth. I don't know if it is bad body mounts or if I am just too tall. Going to put the front sway bar back on with some quick disconnects and see if it helps.

the rear of the body was riding on the rear bumper...now the new bumper isn't as high....

I got a question. I heard galvanized pipe is stronger than "black" pipe, but I also heard you are not supposed to weld galvanized. Can anyone shed some light on that for me? And where can I find some pipe bigger than 1" ID?

first you do not want to use pipe at all!!!! pipe is for poop. you need either DOM or HREW tubing. DOM if its for a roll cage or any part that may save your life in a roll over. HREW is ok for bumpers just when bending put the seam inward because that is the weakest point. as for galvanized it is a pain in the butt to weld and the welds are the weak point. what you need is some 1.5inch .120 wall DOM or HREW tubing for some good bumpers and Id say .250 DOM for sliders. But you will need a tube bender you can not use a pipe bender on tube it will kink and if ever under load will bend. the 1.5 .120 wall HREW is only about $1 a foot here in CO so its pretty cheap

You must have missed the part where I said I cant afford a tube bender. Buying tube isnt the problem. And I am not building a cage.

All I can say is that welding galvanized will make you feel like chit and have a cough for a couple days after... Ask me how I know!

Ya but welding galvanized is a no-no for your health unless you have the proper breathing aparatus I would advise you not to weld a lot of it.

As for the poop pipe! Use it! no harm in bumpers or sliders unless you want to tie an exo into it at some point.

down here, Modern Welding sells both Schd. 40 and 80 pipe in just about any size diameter you can think of......and the prices aren't too bad....

ask Greg where he gets his HREW, I would say they sell pipe as well.....

and stay away from Galvanized....as said before it can be done, but ya need a fresh air hood because the fumes are Extremely Toxic....

and yes pipe is ok for sliders and bumpers....DOM if ya doin a cage.....

Ok thanks. And I know where Greg gets his HREW. Thats where I get my angle from. Can't argue with 20' of 1" angle for $11.
