disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Got a little work done. I'm using a 1350 planetary as a mock up. You can see the 6 gear 1354 set I will be swapping to.

Also figured out what I am going to do about shifters. I will use the stock linkage for the doubler case. And building my own linkage for the 1354e case. I will only need to be able to shift from 2hi to 4lo so it shouldn't be too bad. If I do need 4hi, then I can crawl under it and shift it manually.

Do what? Won't what?

If you mean a SAS, then no, I won't.

Do it, go D44 SAS and 9 inch rear.

Then again I do remember waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back you saying you didnt want to go to extreme on this vehicle either....ya we all say that and never hold to those words.

And I've said if I have enough problems with the 35 that would make me want to swap, then I'll go 44 TTB.

TTB>SAS [/discussion]

Looking good, keep it up!!

wanna build me a doubler plate and shaft? lol

Send me a shaft and $70 and I can have the shaft cut.

I had read of people using gear oil in their t-case instead of atf. Anyone have some input on that? Doesn't seem like the heavier weight will get thrown around inside as easily.

I use ATF....

Ok so the doubler is ready to bolt together. Just need to tie up some loose ends. I got about half of the plate cut and my grinder died, the shift fork shaft needs cut, need to pick up a couple more allen bolts (they are stronger and provide more clearance around the bolt head), the planetary set needs swapped on the doubler case, and the whole thing needs disassembled and cleaned out.

Also going to make a pattern of the plate for a backup. Or just in case I do add a third case :D
