Dans 94, RCSB, 4.0, 4x4, 5spd

Without going back through your thread...

Are those Kenda Klever RT's?

What size?

They are and they are my personal new favorite tire. These are 33x10.5x15. I expected them to be good in gravel, sand, and loose rock. But what surprised me is their ability to clean out mud like an MT without sounding like one on the road

Those tires are on my short list to replace my current set.

A couple questions if you don't mind...

What is the width and backspace on your wheels?

Are you running any spacers?

How are the road manners and wet driving on surface roads?

I'd ask about snow... but your location tells me you wouldn't know.

They also make that tire in a 9.50. I really like the pizza cutter look.

Speaking of tires I took a load of stuff over to my buddies powder shop to have thing swapped around and he let me drive this POS in next to the lambos, and show trucks.

I will check to see width and BS when I get home but I’m pretty sure they are 15x7 with -19 BS.
No spacers at all

I think the road manors are fantastic! I have a set of AT3W Falkens on a Tacoma and they are similar in noise IMO. Also that’s almost unfair to test because the Tacoma stays at proper air pressure 30ish and I keep these in the low 20s even on the street. Also to speak to road manors I can say yesterday I did some really aggressive braking on the lime rock roads I was running and I did not get ABS to kick in or feel the fronts lock up, they just gripped and slowed me down very very quickly. (This truck is rear abs only)

In the rain I have no fear, although this truck doesn’t really go above 65 ever and I don’t do a lot of highway.

Couldn’t tell you about snow but they are studable.

The 9.5s are cool but so are the 35x10.5s.

I don't have the room or gear to do 35's. I'm also not trying to get out the step ladder to get in the damn thing.

Last thing... do they have a bead protector that stands proud of the wheel?

Also... thanks for taking the time to answer my list of questions.

lol I feel ya on the 35s which is why I went with a 33x10.5 load C tire for weight savings mostly. These wheels are okay but I have my eye out for some factory forged fx4level 2 wheels (not sure how much they weigh but being forged I’m hoping in the mid teens). Or any 15” forged wheel to shed a few more pounds. I have a set of 15x7 in 5x5.5 that are forged and I just weighed them at 14# for my CJ2A im pumped! Gonna run kendas UTV Klever XT in 32x10 on them, it’s based on the RT but even lighter I’ll have a nearly 50# setup since the wheels are 14# and the tires are 37iirc.

Anyway less need stuff and back to your questions.
I was right 15x7-19bs.
And yes they have a good thick bead protector!
I hope I don’t sound overly positive about these tires but I plan to put them on basically everything I have based on price, sizes they offer, and how they have performed for me. They are the first RT I’ve tested and I see no reason to get an MT anymore.

The billet or forged 15x5.5s I was referencing as well as the Kenda XT 32x10.

Nice...

I have a set of 5 Alcoas for my truck. They do have a 4.5 inch backspace... your current wheels are 3.75 inch backspace. So you loose 3/4 per side in stance width.

I have a wheel in the garage with no tire or wheel weights... I'll put it on the scale tomorrow and let you know. Your or my scale won't be scientific... but somewhere close I'd guess. I like to keep my wheel and tire choice as lite as I can too.

That's a nice bead protector... I like it.

I guess I'm not seeing cheap though... and I could be wrong... but i don't see and mileage warranty with those RT's. Did you get a mileage warranty?

Oh yes please do give me a weight! I was seeing 21# on some places I saw them for sale but that seems pretty heavy to me. Also I don’t care about stance, I’m function over form 99% of the time.

No mileage warranty on mine, I got them on eBay and initially paid $233 for one that I got for testing. I wanted to see how fitment with the new wheels would be. Previous I had Kendas Gen1 MT on some 17” steel wheels with spacers. After I was happy I pulled the trigger on a set of 4 for $933 and had a buddy mount/balance them for free. I wasn’t super worried about mileage because between 4 vehicles I never wear a set out before they get old and dry and this isn’t a highway cruiser so miles would be fairly low. I wish I had a more accurate count for how many miles I have on them for you. I can say they spend all their life below 25psi, and down as low as 12 (once I forgot to air up after airing down to 12 and drove 30miles on pavement home.) I know they have over 5k based on the fact that I did two oil changes since they have been on, and they have seen a few pretty decent burnouts. Since they have 19/32 tread from the start they still look new to me, and more impressive is the lack of any chunking, or strange wear patterns like 2/4 of their first gen MTs seem to have gotten.

Alcoa forged wheel... with center cap and valve stem. No wheel weights...

Like I said... not scientific but as accurate as a digital bathroom can be.

I'll add that I repeated the weight test 3 times. All ended at 17 lbs.

Thank you! 17 isn’t as light as I hoped, had my fingers crossed for sub 15# but still not bad. I’ll have to dig up and see how much my American racing cast wheels weigh.

So I’ve had a haunting squeak for a few months now, I thought it was all the hiems needing lube but I was wrong. Had a buddy jiggle the cab while I looked under and noticed the driver rear body mount seems to be moving inside itself and causing the noise which is really loud in the cab.
Today I tried tightening it and it didn’t help so I tried pulling it apart and I could not get the mount to separate and come out. I ended up squirting as much lube as I could all over it and tightening it till I thought I was gonna break the bolt. No luck it’s just as bad ass ever and still clearly moving inside itself.

anyone have tips how to get the mount apart I have a full new kit ready to go.

After failing at my body mount repair I did a pre-trip inspection and noticed my driver front wheel bearing seemed loose. Was able to snug up the inner lucking nut and everything feels good. The grease was still clean so fingers crossed I can romp it all day tomorrow and be alright. This will be one of the first trips I’ve gone on that I’m actually kinda planning to need the winch. I’m bringing a friend but his Lexus is not nearly capable enough to go where we want to go so he will be riding with me. Should be a good time, might be extra wet as it rained all day, guess we’re gonna find out!

Had a blast today scouting new trails, new boat launches, and new places to hike. I keep planning these trips simply by searching Google satellite view and trying to spot anomalies in the tree canopy’s and it keeps working. Did a lot of easy dirt roads which are fun to blast down, did a bunch of water/mud crossings, some long extremely rough trails that just toss you side to side, and a few miles of dense scrub that was once a trail and now is just torture on your paint.
