Okay now for the story and whats going to happen. I got these buy trading my driverside axleshaft to a guy off my D28 that is sitting in my driveway. These headers are new and never before used and came with all the hardware. These will be going on my dads truck when I buy it from him and later on his engine will be going into my current truck and his will be getting th diesel swap. Why you ask, well because his has the ford factory rebuilt engine in it plus we have had his manifolds off recently. My current truck will be my play truck and the other one will be my DD/economy truck.

Hopefully the othr half of the stuff will arrive within the next week.

there's nothing better than free stuff

I know that, love the feeling. Or if something wasnt free but took a little money and time to get working and what not feels just as good too.

Great.....was leaving to go meet up with some friends tonight. Well got out of the driveway and had put her into first gear and she died and wont start back up. Coil wasnt hot and nor was the dura box but did smell burnt elctronics by the dura box though but that was after I put her in 4lo and used the starter to push her to the curb. The main wire wasnt hot that comes off the battery for the starter so it wasnt that nor were any of the others. Just to point out, my dura box is on the opposite side of the starter and didnt smell anything on the side of the starter. Last time this happened it was the coil that went out but it got HOT. Not a gas issue either was getting that and i put a little down the carb. and no luck. Luckly I have tomorrow off work so I will have to check everything and hopefully get it fixed then.

Well its my coil that went out. Good news is my other parts showed up along with my xbox 360 after having to be snt out for the 4th time to b fixed.

Cant wait to mount my M/T tires to the truck now!!!!! But that will have to wait till I get the money to do so.........

Trucks up and running again. Turns out it wasnt the coils but it was th duraspark box that had shorted itseld and failed. The coil has a 2 year warrenty on it and the dura box has a lifetime warrenty. So now I have all new electronics under the hood.

where did you get the rims from?

Go the rims from summit for just over $200.

Okay think my plans for my dads truck will be changed. H bought a 98 ranger extended cab 4wd and mwas told that my bro in law will buy his old one off me if I dont buy it so may just go that rought and buy a used one but something pre 98, something like a 3rd gen one instead of doing a diesel swap since Im looking for a ranger that can be good on fuel since mine is getting 8-10 mpg no matter how I drive it. His being a 3.0 is kinda ewwww but for 4grand and just needs a little work put in it, I have to say its pretty nice plus seeing the monthly paymenys on it, I can afford something like that working min. wage easily. Ill post picks of it later, just got home from partying at a friends 22nd b-day.

Thing with that cover is, its already been off road, the PO used this axle for that. Its a quarter inch thick cover, no worries there. But this truck, when it sees off road, will be in the mud. I had a D35 axle that had a clear cover that was also given to me along with my D30 and I took a huge hammer to it multiple times and didnt phase it, so I dont have high worries.

Okay on to what I got accomplished tonight.....go the axle mount for the track bar mostly done, I'll do touch up work on it tomorrow.

was modifying this bracket on the axle necessary?

no, the previous owner of the axle had modified that bracket to use a higher mounting track bar bracket and the stock tabs were cut off in the process. A stock XJ Dana30 axle will have one similar to that.

ok cool. so besides the driveshaft need shortening (2"?) the only fab work needed to mount the axle and be driveable is the trac bar mount on the frame and some radius arm mounts?

depending on what transfer case and driveshaft will determine if you will need to modify the front shaft. I was lucky to find one on ebay that was the right length off a Grand wagoner

if you have all the part's on hand there is no reasone this swap couldnt be done in 1 long day.
the fabrication possiably needed (what i did on mine)
driveshaft
trac-bar and frame bracket
steering
long arm frame bracket's
trans crossmember

Danger: I really wanna see those tire's and wheel's BADLY, get them on and let your truck have some fun in the snow with them!!!
