either paint it blue like the engine, or silver, I would paint it blue, then paint the water pump silver.

Sweet! I think I'm with robert on the silver water pump and accents

I was going to do silver accents but Autozone didnt have any silver paint in stock at the time and I didnt want to run all over town for any so I bit the bullet and went for black accents.

I may paint the timing cover blue and then the water pump black. I would like the silver accents and water pump but I have seen alot of 302's this way and dont want to have mine look the same as them.

As for valve covers, Im going to shop around. I think a good set of aluminum ones the have FORD on them would look just perfect.

Timing cover black along with everything else. It will look good up against a blue block and heads.

Sounds good. Then I'll paint the water pump blue.

Either risk my current water pump that had unknown age and is a grease ball or just get a new one....i think I'll go new and be done with that.

A black engine is said to be the most efficent one, has something to do with heat transfer and whatnot.

I have to get back with my bro in law, says he may have a starter for me and if not then I will just go off to the JY and see if they wll do a straight up trade for the one I need for the new/rebuilt on I have, cant see why they wouldnt.

As for the new paycheck, hopefully get my motorcycle plated and insured so that I can start saving money on fuel so an intake or anyother goodies may have to wait awhile but after I get the timing cover painted, its a matter of putting the engine back together.

Replace the water pump, it ain't any good. Someone had stuck a small piece of wood in the weep hole, and hammered a small nail in the middle to try and seal it up. I found it when I originally took the FEAD off, but ended up removing it. Funniest shit I'd ever seen, but cheap and easy enough to replace now.

Will do. Plus its a grease ball that I dont want to degrease either.

As for progress.....

I fear though that I will have to swap rear ends though, my 7.5 wont hold up to 200HP of engine let alone a granny low that will put a ton of torque on it in first let alone in 4lo with first gear.

Ill just end up putting and exploder one in, dont care if it has drums or disk brake either.

You might be ok. If anything you will destroy the driveshaft.

I plan on going with a fullsize driveshaft off an f150 that had the 8.8 rear (hince why I wanted a 8.8 flange for my 7.5) and just shortening it.
