ok so lately ive really wanted to build up my b2. and the other day i found 1974 F250 axles dana 60 rear and dana 44 front. will the 44 fit and line up with the transfer case? i know i will have to bring in the spring perches but i can do that. also for the front i will be adding leafs. i just thought for the price of 450 for both i cant go wrong also they are 8 lug

Around here you can buy the whole truck for 450 and then do a drive train swap too. I would keep looking for something with gears already installed for when you put the big mudders on, and you know yo will.
good luck,

Richard

First off, some inspiration.:D

As long as the front axle's diff is on the drivers side it'll be fine.
I did have issues with the vertical angle of the driveshaft though. It ended up being such a steep angle the u joints were maxed out at ride height.

I ended up having to swap transfer cases, from a 1350 to a 1354, the 1350 has a slip yoke front output and the 1354 has a fixed front output and using a double cardan joint.

IIRC a '74 F-250 has a closed-knuckle, drum-brake, lo-pinion D44, and the rear D60 is 30 spline. There are much better axles out there than those (even the bolt-in D35 and [not-far-from-bolt-in] Explorer 8.8" are better/stronger).

If you want heavy-duty axles, I'd look for a '78 or later F-350 to rob the axles out of (skip the '80-'86 F-350s though). The F-350 D60 front axle will be high-pinion which will help immensely with your front driveshaft angle.

thanks guys for the info and pics i will look into my brothers truck graveyard for a dana 60 front

so i looked and didnt find any. but i have come across another question how much trouble would it be to make the front end coilovers using say a giant motorsports shock hoop and some fox or king coilovers. i quess i would just have to add 3 link. does any one know of a three link kit for a decent price?? i want to go full width for stance (i really like it) and second for stability

Coilovers and link suspensions can be tricky to setup. Lots of trial and error.
I don't know if anyone makes a kit but Ruffstuff has all the brackets, tabs, and link material you need.

Here are a bunch of full width SAS BII's I cataloged a little while back. Enjoy.:D A few more have popped up since then too.

Well good luck with that. There aren't that many FW SAS BII's out there and there are even fewer on 33"s. If they are available then run them, or sell them and get something bigger.

D'cheat's will be on 43"s
