Hey everyone!
So I’ve got an 83 ranger, recently bought. The owner previous to me did an axel swap with the Dana 30 off a 97 Jeep. The track bar bracket is not welded square to the frame and is sitting quite off center, as I found out when I took it in for an alignment.
The old guy I brought it to says I need to find a new bracket off an old ranger, but I have the feeling the bracket I need to look for would be the one from a Jeep. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Thank you kindly, Jerrot!

How about a pix so we can point out & help you guide in the right direction-

I’ll take a few first thing in the morning. Thank you

need solid pictures and measured dimensions.

this can be a simple fix with a piece of angle, cut off wheel and a drill....or a horrendous pia.

Hopefully this gives an idea of what’s going on. You can see how the track bar bracket isn’t welded flush to the frame, and is siding my coils to bend

What track bar and bracket would normally be used for a Dana 30 SAS?

that looks like a jeep unit to me.

ruff stuff sells a simple kit. I really like that place.

you could remove a section of lip from the k member and bolt some box to it and the lower frame rail, section out the box and use a standard bushing mount.

I use a regular ranger tie rod for a trac bar, but I built the brackets to use the tierod joint in the horizontal position and I put it behind the k.

but I also use a dana 60 and put the axle forward 3 inches.

with my style steering box I have more room to do stuff. with the factory ranger steering box and the underslung axle the trac bar is tight.

Yikes that’s horrendous looking. I did something a bit different to my 86 let me know if u want some pics

Yeah it’s a bit of a mess haha. I’m having trouble finding a used one off a Jeep locally without having a good days worth of travel, the ones that are near are quite rotted.
I’ll look on ruffs stuff site and see what I can find there, thanks for the tip. The few after market one I have seen online for the jeeps the track bar attaches differently than this one, it slides between with a horizontal bolt opposed to being attached straight on the bottom. Would this track bar I have still fit?
My other option is just taking it to a shop and have them fab one up, weld it on, and align it all in one go as I am limited in what I can do because I have no shop or welder.

Thanks again guys, very much appreciated! This site has saved my ass so many times

looks like it has oem radius arms hard mounted to the axle.

that's a potentially bigger problem then the janked up tracbar

Well that’s not what I want to hear bobby. Do I want to start looking for radius arms off a Jeep?
The whole truck is in excellent shape, there’s been a complete rebuild of the engine and transmission, and everything mechanical has been touched so I’m not ready to put it to the side yet haha

where do you live?

get pictures of the arms where they interface.

"potentially"

keep an eye on them and watch for cracks...damn thing may be just fine forever....or you may want to do some iron man arms or something with a better axle....

if I was running a jeep axle I would be dealing with iron man stuff or at least that style.

I live in Nova Scotia Canada, the frigid North Atlantic haha.

I’ll grab a few pics of the arms tomorrow morning when there’s a little bit of light to work with.

That site looks really great, I’m surprised I hadn’t run into it yet. I’ll order the brackets from them but I think I’ll wait on putting longer arms on it for a little while unless that ends up being a complete necessity.

Thanks again!

For the track bar to frame bracket am I going to want to order a regular bracket, a drop bracket, or an offset bracket? From Ironman
